So apparently this is being made right now, but I failed to notice.
This time they're going for an open world and no more load screens, which is an interesting move. I prefer the "path" method that they used in the previous two titles but I'm keeping an open mind. They're also developing it for ps4 and the new xbox simultaneously it seems (rather than develop it for PC first and adapt it for console later), which could be a bad thing as the previous two were optimized for PC and not "dumbed down", as they say. I'm most likely going to buy it regardless as I loved the previous two and CD projekt seems to care about it's customers.

Re: The witcher 3
I've struggled a bit to get fully into either of the previous games, but have put a lot of hours into both. They are both on my "should and really want to complete" games list, but also intersect with my "not right now, bit of a re-learning curve to get back into" list. The second was easier to play, but felt a bit Zelda-ish with the boss battles, which equates to an even steeper re-learning curve if my last save was just before one of those.

Re: The witcher 3
I really enjoyed the first game, stopped at the start of the final chapter so I didn't finish it as my PC wasn't good enough at the time.
Oddly, same again for Witcher 2 but much earlier as I was trying to run it on a HD4850.
I really need to play it again now I've got a HD7950 and can run it at a decent framerrate.

Re: The witcher 3
I had to persevere with finishing the second one, it's a great story, offering tough choices about characters you have a vested interest in, but the combat is damned hard and sometimes it throws so much stuff at you in terms of quests, loot and new environs that it becomes a bit overwhelming to decide what to do next. Like FJ said, the learning curve is pretty steep and it's hard to re-align with even after a few days of not playing. Such that I tried repeatedly to get the half finished save resurrected and had to start from scratch in the end to get anywhere with it.
They're also working on the cyberpunk update. It's nice to see an independent developer making good games, getting glowing reviews, making money and purposely staying away from being swallowed by the big publishing houses to retain creative control.
