I'll be very sad to see this go - had some brilliant laughs over the years. :(

:( damn fucking shame.

Can't say I'm surprised though, it was unplayable for months at a time due to bugs, so it lost a great deal of players.

One last faaabulous parade before it closes?

:(

One of the most enjoyable online experiences I've ever had. The Fabulous Parade was a personal highlight for me - it will take something pretty damn special to top that. Even the general day to day stuff was fun: travel powers were thoroughly enjoyable, the character customization was mind boggling, and the badge collections were what first switched me on to in game achievements. It was let down by repetitive missions and 'dungeon' layouts, but it was so easy to join random groups of decent people it made up for that.

Farewell CoH/CoV, you will be missed.

I just choked on my food laughing at memories of Spartacus. We were legends in our own lunchtime.

I remember in particular heading en-masse into the sewers and dying in dribs and drabs, but because there were so many of us there was a Spartacus every few seconds running in, and none coming out. Much to the bemusement of people stood outside.

I played for 1 free weekend, 1 amazing, fabulous weekend, with hindsight I should have played more!.

I think this was a costume competition that we all entered, don't think any of us won.

I too never played this. Did you actually get any superhero-ing done or was it just fabulous parades and lunacy? I keep laughing at DP's description of the Spartaci.

It was first and foremost a piss about - the game lent itself to that better than any MMO I have ever played. A few of us stuck around to play it a little more seriously (I have/had 4 maxed out characters), but it was always just about 5punking about. The more I remember it, the more I realise how much I'll miss it

:above: This

We played it stupidly mostly, even those of us who played 5punky-seriously (very different to actually seriously) fucked about more than actually doing anything sensible.
