Yeah, when I first read that this would be a remake of X-Com I assumed it would be a remake of X-Com, but it looks like they're just making a similar sort of game and calling it X-Com. Might be good, but Xenonaughts is now back on top of my "Games most likely to be as good as X-Com" list.

This is interesting. The gameplay still concerns me but the aesthetics are interesting.

RPS have another news post about it as well, links are a picture story of a couple of rounds.

narf, not impressed as it looks like limited squads made up of predefined specific classes (assault, sniper, heavy etc), rather than the more freeform squads of the original games.

Although destructable environments are present, which is very very important.

These people really need to stop ruining their perfectly good games by calling them XCom.
