Doubt it, this is us after all. I don't see why we should let that stop us though! :)

We were about 3 games short (of the halfway point, which we could safely abandon at). Booo.

It's a brilliant game if you can get to grips with it though. I'm well up for another bash.

Pants and me had a go this evening, first time we've played in yonks.

A fresh set of Dark Elves for me vs a set of Humans for Doggers. I got smashed 4-1.

I don't like Dark Elves, Pants did play rather well though.

I also killed two of his better players, so we might not be seeing that team again. Sorry Buzz. Good game though, the last minute goal by Buzz's Witch Elf was a great run.

Did someone say Tournament?

Was quite a bit of fun last time, with some great write-ups. I think Pants massively overestimated my tactical acumen last time around, netting me a flukey win - I fancy things might turn out very different in a potential rematch.

Based on form, the table from the last tourney is likely how things would've finished and I'm totally not saying that because I managed a wholly unexpected third placing. Well, maybe a bit*.

What I was thinking of doing about further tournaments was creating a third league for Veterans. In theory the inducement system should boost underpowered teams, but in practice a few extra spells or a star player don't usually match up to an experienced team. So every 'season' would have entirely new teams for the new players, and old teams can either play in the Veteran league (and face being eaten by Joose's ogres no doubt) or retreat to the 5punky Cup for friendly matches.

I'm stoked by the idea of another tournament - I really enjoyed the last one, and still love the game.

I like the idea of a Veterans league. Your right about inducements, there is a limit to how much they can rebalance things. It's not too bad for small differences, but bigger differences are kinda unfixable.

I've no idea what team I'll play this time around though...

Point in case: I just played a random Khemri team 200 points higher than me. That's not really enough to swing the balance, but the extra game time his team had gave him a maxed out team of Tomb Guardians and a seemingly omnipresent Blitzer with several injuring skills. I lost four skinks dead or injured before the end of the first half, and the rest of my team spent three quarters of the match on the ground - even my saurii couldn't stand toe to toe with those Guardians. I pulled off a 0-0 draw in the end because the guy was utterly shite. He somehow managed to reduce his own team by five players through silly blocks and fouls.

Chances of us managing to get another league going before the end of the week are slim at best, and even if we do we won't have played all the games by then. Look how long the last one has taken! :)
