Google+

Post by spoodie »

I'm on it, are you on it? It seems okay, very minimalist. I like the way you seem to be able to separate out your contacts, so perhaps work colleagues can't see your stuff only intended for friends and vice-versa. I'm not sure it works that way but that's the impression I get.

Although Google have supposedly disabled the invite system there's a way around it so I can invite if you'd like to try it.

Check your gmail, you should have a notification of a thing. You need to click a link on that to enable Google+ on your account. Maybe like this: http://androidcommunity.com/google-invi ... -20110630/

They may have stopped the work-around by now. I'll try adding you two again.

I don't think I clicked the button enough times. Do you have emails now?

No, they must have disabled sending emails to stop the workaround.

Aw, that's a shame. You're not missing out on too much at the moment though.

The email contained the fish so I got a small glimpse of what I'm missing out on.

I've been screwing around with my profile and circles and stuff. Seems pretty promising so far.

I do like the concept of circles, making your stuff only visible to certain people. Good for splitting up work and personal.

I've already preemptively made a 5punk circle. Because god knows what kinds of crap I'd share with all of you that I wouldn't want anyone else I know seeing. :ahoy:

If/when invites work/are available, I'd like one, my boss might be interested as we develop apps for facebook.

I think I'd rather not have Facebook style apps on Google+.

Me either, but they do already have the iGoogle applications, so it's a possibility.

There are apparently mentions of Google Games in the codes, so I guess that stuff will appear at some point. So long as its permissions are handled better than Facebook has/does, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I suppose it's Facebook I have the problem with, not the apps as such. Hopefully Google will be slightly less evil about them.
