thats the original thread on eve-o

personally, i'd be more worried that the devs werent playing the game on tranquility. how would they find out about little niggles in game? have you ever sent a bug report? i havent. how are they gonna get to the point where faction spawns/mission rewards/exploration 'feel' right, unless they can play the game for emselves, and get to experience what the paying customer experiences.

also its all well and good that IAC + friends are rolling us up if theyve got devs with all the /heal 0 and T2 BPOs they can eat, but it'd be even worse if they are handing our collective ass to us just because they are that much better

i agree, i've sent 2 bug reports since i started playing, if we don't then we always have the bugs so i would suggest to everyone in here to report any bugs. even if you think it has been reported just do it. i hate bugs, last one is the missile launchers not working when swapping out fittings at pos

heres another link to it out of game, looks like this is going to get really interesting. i know a few people who will leave the game if this isn't resolved. i doubt i would but feel i need to at least let others know so they can make their own choice

To be honest, if it is true, why did it take goonswarm so long to open their mouths and say this. And why such shitty BPOs come to that. Just doesn't smell right to me. Tack on the source of said intel and I really wouldn't trust this to be acurate.

Of course, if it is, dev in question will most likely lose his job. Same as the GM who cheated with an estamel fitted rattler last summer.

Could someone who's actually been bothered to wade through all the piles of bs care to summarise wtf this is all about please, Hehulk?

Seems that a Dev toon got compromised and deleted after what, 4 years of playing? Damn that sucks and no way he'd be able to get in touch with his old corp mates because they'd instantly know who he is. Hard blow for the corp to lose a toon like that too :(

My knowledge goes thusly (If someones read something contrary to this, please do say so)

Last june a dev alt in BoB PMs one of the BoB directors (Dianabolics name has been kicked about alot) and says something to the effect of I'm giving BoB an interdictor BPO and some T2 ammo BPO. BoB, not being ones to look a gift horse in the mouth, say yes.

Fast forward to some charming hacker breaking into the database BoBs forum is stored on and copying it en masse. He then sifts through it looking at all the PMs directors have sent/recived looking for intel he can use against BoB and find that little nugget from last june. This intel is then sold to goonswarm for an undisclosed amount of isk.
Something Aweful forums go into mega overdrive over this startling revelation when The Mittani (I'm assuming it's him, since he's goons chief of intel) posts it in the goonswarm private general section and CCP catch wind of it (Don't ask me how). Keiron then posts about how this CCP is being acused of giving T2 BPOs to an alliance and it's being investigated and goons flood the thread along with much of the forum with mindless (foofoofoofoofoo) spam. This then promps a complete ban on all discussion threads relating to the issue (to stop the goon spam as now they can be baned for it) which brings us to now.

Apparently CCP will be posting some kind of press release over the weekend letting us know what's been done and what's ongoing atm to apease the baying crowd.

from what i gather from the various forums, they actually know who and where the hacker (kugutsumen) lives and hacks from. however with the lax state of the hacking laws in indonesia, they cant really get charges to stick. apparently the FBI would only be interested in him if he'd ever done more than $5k's worth of damage.

if your curious, kugut runs a forum, but i'd guess giving you're IP/email etc etc to a known hacker would be a bad thing.....

I guess you've missed the newest news article from CCP about a third party site installing a keylogger (Or something to that effect) on your computer and gaining access to accounts that way

i hate to beat a dead horse http://www.ihatehorses.com but got some more info on this matter. Link Removed - mod edit

once again i am not going any where but i will say CCP actions in this matter are wrong. all they are doing is censoring people left and right. dev forum moderators must be working OT.

Word from teh mod: Sorry, but I've heard enough bad things regarding that site and keyloggers to allow the link to stay there.

i dont know, but i can guess that that was the site of kugublokey.....

now i've read what he had to say (and recived a keylogger for my troubles, i think i've got rid of it but hey......), and i've read the 'official' responces: (T20 Fesses up and Hellmar, ccp's ceo

narf, its happened. did it affect me? no. did it affect 5punkorp? i very much doubt it. did it affect ISS? erm. i cant remember that many bob sabre kills on our guys. will everyone in eve who has a problem with bob in the firstplace, come out of the woodwork and attack bob allies (us and LV/RISE etc)? hell yes.

meh, i'd be more concerned that the devs had NO clues about how things happend in 0.0/alliance polotics
