oooh, handbags!
I dont know. CS:S is great, but saying HL2 is the best online game ever because it has CS:S does seem a little...wrong, somehow.
Got to agree with you about ET, though i may have put it a little less....directly.

my point was that it's an opinion and personally given the quality of the multiplayer games of the last year. the few i've played have been *crap*
so hl2 is probably the winner, even if you go on the technicality that you need the interweb to play it.
imo, farcry and doom 3 are good examples of the shitness.

Im not disagreeing with you as such, I certainly would agree that theres no better multiplayer game come out last year than CS:S, it just feels odd that Half Life 2 is getting the credit for being the best multiplayer game. I know they both came out bundled together, and they use the same engine, but they just feel like two different games. I would have been happier if they could somehow give the multiplayer award to just CS:S.Dr. Kitteny Berk wrote:my point was that it's an opinion and personally given the quality of the multiplayer games of the last year. the few i've played have been *crap*
you mean you can play other multiplayer games online without the interweb? Magic!so hl2 is probably the winner, even if you go on the technicality that you need the interweb to play it.
Im glad im not the only one who found farcry a little poo.imo, farcry and doom 3 are good examples of the shitness.

yeah, i know how you mean, but it's an award for pcworld using public, so 99% of them wouldn't know CS:S if at arse raped them with an AK.
i loved the first section of farcry, all the people shootings and stuff, but once it got to the funny monsters, it mostly bored me, and it's multiplayer suffered from turok 2 syndrome

use etpro and set up your gui to something sensible then. Also, if you want it to look pretty then you can, but graphics are pretty irrelevent when you play a game a lot. You can't abuse a game if you've just failed to configure it properly.Dr. Kitteny Berk wrote:and ET is utter bollocking shit with a poor gui and and worse graphics.

So says Mr 557-hours-spent-playing-ET, a guaranteed objective point of view.n00bt00b wrote:use etpro and set up your gui to something sensible then. I tried it out myself last night, on n00bt00b's recommendation, and found it to be okay. Although I only played for 30 mins so I didn't see too much, I still prefer Sven Coop for now. I'll be joining the 5punk ET sess though.
