well, seeing as it's getting warmer and i'm having gun-lust again.
I'm fancying some paintball/airsoft/mindless violence.
either way, if we can find a decent pb/airsoft site that's pretty central to everyone, would anyone by up for a day of it?
depending on the site, i'd expect it to cost between £50 and £100-odd for paintball (just depending how much you paint people)
perhaps if we're being really geeky, we could do a lanparty and paintball or somesuch?
thoughts?

What's airsoft?
I refuse to play paintball again, ever!
A pulsating bloody lump on the side of my neck, and excruciating pain, followed my major bleeding kind of put me off the sport for some reason
We've talked about having a "meet" for a LAN party etc earler on, and I like the idea, however the big question as always is where/when and how much.
I'm definitely up for meeting at a LAN/booze up thingy, but it's a definite no from me when it comes to Paintball I'm afraid

paintball paintball paintball!
Paintball is the bestest! at lest you know when youre hit and it can be proved.
I dont trust airsoft simply caus the balls are puney and sometimes say it hits a fat fold of clothing you doint feel it, and also caus nobody can prove you were hit.
And airsoft guns arent exactly realistic, i mean a 1000 shot magazine? comon. at least with paintball you have to be skimpy with the shots and consider things like that.
Boozy lan party would be cool. Any chance of a even nerdier than i could code a site to work out where people are? say we all put our postcodes in it it could work out the most central place for everyone?

Not too sure about paintballing, but one thing I did the other day for the first time in ages was laser quest, and it was fantastic. I may have been drunk tho.
About the LAN idea, the big LAN in slough organised by my mate is going ahead, a little later than I thought but I guess it gives us plenty of time to organise everyone who wants to come. Its on the 6-8th of May, more info here http://www.fuklan.net/
Its usually a bit of a battlefield fest, which is fine by me, but I can also imagine a lot of CS:Sourceing, but if enough of us lot go we can feck off and do what we like. I'll probably be going as I usually do, but if there is enough demand I could ask my mate to set us up a corner of our own.

Yep, this was the one mentioned before. Last time round a company was there hiring out PCs, im not sure if they are going to be there again, but if they are the PCs were of decentish spec, but nothing amazing. Also, without your own box, you will miss out on all the leeching (not that i condone piracy, at all. no no. oh no).mrbobbins wrote: I'm sure we discussed this in the previous LAN party thread, but what's the score with equipment?, can you hire it?, if there were others going from London area I could hire a car and be able to bring my box.
