5punk's favourite game of 2006

Post by mrbobbins »

Ok so I'm bored, what is your favourite game released in 2006?

To save my sanity we'll keep it to PC games, and not every game released, that would be silly, besides (I've just discovered!) there's a limit on number of poll oprions

If your favourite game isn't on the list then, er... stuff it, I had to remove it so it's not worthy of winning.

Unless there are multiple cries of indignation for missing out on awesome titles like:

I don't own or have even played a single one of those games.
For me the best game I discovered last year was BF2, allthough that wasn't released in 2006 so it doesn't count.

Last year was pretty shit for me, and lacked any new games that really got me excited, as you all know, I'm an online gamer and not very interested in single player games on my PC, hence the lack of entusiasm for any of the games mentioned in the poll.

If it wasn't for 5punk, I probably wouldn't of even bothered playing games on my PC :(

Zelda:TP wasn't an option, so HL2EP1 it is.
Both are yummy.

Oblivion. HL2Ep1 was better, but only for a few hours. I will play Oblivion again and again.

Out of that choice its Oblivion hands down, Episode 1 was really very good but ive only played thru it once where as ive been played and replayed Oblivion loads of times (mainly due to pc borkage). Ive had vanilla Oblivion but its gotten better with mods and new pc hardware. Hands down the best RPG EVAR.

Multiplayer tho it has to be BF2 that game never gets old (nor does shooting pnut over and over and over).

has to be H:BM for me. the only game ever, that i've bothered to complete each mission back to back, reloading missions until i can do it perfectly, trying speed runs, trying to find the comedy kills, trying to find the 'accidents' that its possible to arrange, not even being seen.

I've put this training to good use as well, i'm probably outside your door as you read this, with the cheeswire stretched out......

Given I can't vote eve ( :x Doesn't revelations count) and being a beard at heart, my vote has to go with dark crusade. I havn't enjoyed an expansion this much since yuris revenge.

I haven't played all but four of those, and BEEF has probably been my most played game of 2006 too. I went for Ep1 because out of the three I bought from that list it was the one that most lived up to my expectations.

I think you'll find many Multiuplayer games in the list, anyway it'd be much longer if there was the option to have more than 15 items :ignore:

I wasn't saying the list was rubbish dude, far from it, but other than BF2142, there's not a lot on there that has gone down well with 5punkers as an online game last year.

I suppose it's a testament to 5punk, that even though we didn't find anything other than BF2142 to get our online teeth into last year, we managed to dig up some old/free games to amuse ourselves, as well as spark off new interest in some 5punk classics such as COH/COV & COD.

Also, I'm glad that the "console wars" haven't detracted any members from 5punk either, as I was worried that some 5punkers may be drawn into the online console thing, and possibly drop the PC, but that doesn't seem to have happened either. :w00t:

y'know, if you didn't mention eve in every post you make on 5punk, people might actually play it.

As it is, you just make all the eve players look like rabid lunatics and i suspect that makes a fair few people stay away.
