bittorrent

Post by deject »

By God I really hate bit torrent. I swear to God I never get downloading speeds more than 10k/s. Now I know I can get at least 2-4Mbps here at school.

Bit torrent sucks.

that's the thing, I'm not behind a router. I have a unique IP, I opened a bunch of ports for it, and it still runs slow.

How is posting a live warez site relevant to this discussion?

I have to admit, bit torrent speeds are rubbish compared to the likes of DC++ etc... however I do use Bit Torrent when I'm unable to get hold of something anywhere else.

As for the livetorrents.com site, that's actually quite a good idea, and I've bookmarked it for future use.

i dunno what setups you lot have, but bittorrent is by far the fastest p2p client for most common things for me. I regularly get in excess of 100k/s downloads, sometimes up to 300/400k
DC++ i rarely break over 30-50k
that livetorrents site is quite nice, not too much range but they all seem to work which is nice.

WEY, you must not have it set up right? Look at the azureus client, and make sure you have ports forwared etc.

I still think linking to that sort of stuff should be frowned on here, I wouldn't want 5punk to be taken down on a technicality. :?

Still, we shouldn't be publicly condoning warez here. It doesn't look good if we're linking to it - companies are getting very protective lately, and I'd not like to give them any provocation in a place that's got nothing to do with piracy.

Aaaah-HAHAHAHA! Oh dear!

That's the internet equivalent of standing outside 15503 Ventura Blvd, Encino, California and giving passers by free burned copies of all your favourite films while holding a "please arrest me" sign.
