POS for carebearing

Post by Fear »

Moarty is looking for a small POS (amarr) to plonk in some low sec system to provide a long-term safe-spot-with-teethTM for mining barges and possibly an intermediate storage of ore. Most likely some 0.2/0.1 dead-end system with a station close by.

I couldn't help but notice the Fw4ppers one is mostly off-line and the only person I see in Jaymas is Spear, so before we go out and buy a brand new one it would make sense for us to ask if you still need yours. The only module in use seems to be the lab (probably making it worth you keeping?)

We intend on buying one ourselves anyway and we wouldn't be looking for mates rates or anything, just normal prices, so if we'd be doing you a favour taking yours off you then say.

Anyway, something to perhaps mull over. I'll chat to you in game if it comes back up later today.

You might all want to sit down when reading this next bit.

I have a second account I am training up for mining.

Yes, I said mining - however I am yet to actually target so much as a veld rock. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll start a blog detailing my emotional struggle to remain connected to EVE whilst in a mining barge? :P

I'm still confused. You left 5punkorp to go and do some fun pew pew in Privateers. That much I understand. But setting up an industrial wing with shitty ores in low sec when you can have what 5punkorp is getting access to in Tenerifis? The cost of the tower setup alone will pay for your alt to live and mine in Tenerifis for 3 months. Not meaning to burst your bubble or anything, but there's a good reason why the Fw4ppers tower is offline most of the time.

You do have a very valid point, however I'm not sure everyone would want 0.0 just yet. Then there is also the case of would 5punkorp even want carebear members (the mining chars probably couldn't gank an Ibis between them skill wise)?

I wouldn't go so far as to declare it an industrial wing, just a mining one - for me at least.

It is all still being discussed anyway, a lot of throwing ideas about.

Edit: Also I am a month away from being able to fly a barge - so I won't get much use from it personally, at least not to being with.

Up to you Fear. Just seems to me that you're reinventing the wheel a bit is all. Doors open if you change your mind though.
