Help! My 5punk is Yellow!

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Help! My 5punk is Yellow!

Post by tandino »

5punkers! Assemble!

For some reason, my primary monitor has started colouring certain shades an off yellow pattern. It seems to have a kind of fuzz (slightly flickering) to it when closely observing. Behold:

<a href="http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g52/e ... ellow2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g52/e ... ellow2.jpg" border="0" alt="Jizzow 1"></a>

and

<a href="http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g52/e ... ellow1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g52/e ... ellow1.jpg" border="0" alt="Jizzow 2"></a>

I've tried a different VGA cable but it made no difference. My secondary monitor is fine, all colours as they should be. This has lead me to believe that either my monitor is on the way out or the input on my graphics card is on the way out.

Any thoughts? Cheers guys!

If you can take screenshots of it, it's not your monitor. (though I can't see anything wrong in them)

swap outputs on videocard to see if it's that.

also try different colour profiles, sometimes they fuck up.

I might be missing it, but nothing looks wrong in those screen shots to me. There's some jpg compression, but the colors look fine on my screen. Can anyone confirm/deny it's just me?

The 5punk page does appear to be a tiny bit darker to me, but not yellow.

Colour management settings in some monitors, it drives me crazy at work.
If greys are coming out brown, then it's doing seem crazy colour management, search for the name of your monitor on google.

Those screen shots look to me like they've come out displaying the exact same errorz I'm seeing on screen. From that I can deduce that certain shades of colour are displaying wrongly through my monitor. The screen shots look fucked to me because the same colours are being displayed in the jpegs.
I'll do what Grimbles suggested and see if I get any joy.

Is that because you're looking at the screenshots on your monitor?

Sorry, not helping.

Take a photo of your monitor and post that.
