Garry's Mod Competition #4

Post by Grimmie »

HELLO ONE AND ALL, AND WELCOME TO THE FOURTH GARRY'S MOD CONSTRUCTION COMPETITION!

The fourth challenge is going to be a little different from the previous ones, but will definitely need your construction skills at their sharpest! Your task is to travel from the top of a tall tower called Tower A, to the top of Tower C, via Tower B without touching the ground, though any means necessary!

Let's see your TRANSPORTATION MACHINES!
Think torpedoes! Think Aeroplanes! Thing huge suspension bridges! Think human canonball!
Fully functioning, videos and pictures please, .sav files would also be quite lovely.

Points awarded for Effectiveness and Creativity!

- Download the map and thumbnail
- Or Download from Profhawking Mirror
- Extract contents of the .rar file to your garry's mod SAVE folder
- Open the game from the Load Game dialogue, or type LOAD GModChallenge in the console
- Map was built in GMod 10, not sure if it works in 9

Here's mine (5.3mb) :)
http://www.5punk.co.uk/uploads/Video/gmodcomp4.wmv

Though I may have cheated because:
a) I turned on godmode, each landing was taking 15-20 health, I couldn't have made them all
b) I copied the towers (though I had to redo the ball sockets and hydraulics each time as they kept mucking up :x)
c) I wasn't sure if I had to propel my self from the big START to tower A or not.

Either way, I'm surprised they all worked, I thought I'd ge to the second to last and then miss the next platform and have to film it all again.

Chuffing nora! That's grand!
Any means possible means any means possible. The start text was put there just so you knew which tower to begin with, so that was a perfect run, multiple towers with giant catapuls on is genius! Hoorah!

The Tower Glider, by Grimmie.
Somewhat successful in design, not so much in practice.

They were meant to look threatening and imposing!
Unfortunately I caught my leg on it, as you see in the video.
