Isn't that the name of that Windows Update client? I hear it also does websites, but it's pretty poorly implemented. Maybe in a few years Microsoft will have refined it to a level that compares with some of the other, more established browsers.

Dont get me started. If it were not for the fact that its game support is still a bit rubbish, i would be a Linux man.

I can wait.

Also: yay for FireFox!

*Looks shiftily around, sneaks rare copy of "Internet Explorer: CD Edition" into trench coat, and mingles inconspiciously*

Err, yeah, FireFox is... *Sighs* Great...

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with IE. I downloaded FireFox once, but found it had needless windows, menus and toolbars, so I returned to the easy-to-use simplicity of IE.

"Psssttttt I shall say zis only wunce"

Internet Explorer IS a good browser, and every XP machine should have it.

The reason for this is that you need it to use the Windows Update site, and all the sites that have shitty html/java/active-x that isn't supported in Firefox.

For every other website I will always use Firefox, as it doesn't get infected by Spyware as much, and the response times and i'ts ease of use make it far better than I.E.

I used to hate Firefox in it's b3ta stages, as it had a lot of bugs that really fucked up my machien at work, but now it's gone live with version 1.0, it Roxx0rZ t3H B1g 0|\|3!!!!!!!!111111on30n3

(This post was brought to you by a very hung over Woo Elephant Yeah, so it may nto make any sense at all)

apart from the slowness and the spyware..
I downloaded FireFox once, but found it had needless windows, menus and toolbars,

so I returned to the easy-to-use simplicity of IE.
well, each to his own, i suppose.

thats a reason that everyone should have i, sure (it is, in fact, near impossible to get rid of even if you wanted to), but im not sure that "microsoft wont let you do without it" equates to "it is good"

arf!

I have to agree with the "doesnt render pages properly" thing though. I wouldnt give a shit what other people used if the browser-making-wankers could make them stick to some kind of bloody standard. Grr.

meh. this is an easy one to solve

use whichever browser you prefer. :D

i stick to FF, because it has tabs and works good for me. *BUT* saying firefox is more secure would be daft, i'm sure it has masses of holes, it's just that they've not been found yet.

I would agree with you, but as a creater of websites, getting them to look the same in both browsers can be a pain in the scrote. And I tend to find it easier to make things work properly in FF than in IE. So i would be much happier if everyone was using FF.

other than that, i completely agree with you. Purely selfish reasoning, i know.

yeah.

problem with IE is that it made it's own standards up and took over the market.

still, there's only one site i ever really use that needs IE to be functional now (ignoring windows update, you can workaround that)
