Right, my dad has a crappy old Compaq 6720s, with a dead battery (HSTNN-FB51)

Any ideas where I'd get a proper replacement cheapish? Kinda want to avoid dodgy chinese numbers. And the HP website is a bit of a joke.

I don't know anywhere personally and Googling brings up a million sites selling them, but none of them that cheap - £33 upward. And I imagine you already found that.

Yep, seen lots of them, but nothing that says shiny new HP original on it.

Budget is probably £60-odd, so not looking too cheap, but I'm not paying that for a non hp battery.

Those don't look genuine though.

There are many compatible batteries, but looks like it would be difficult to find an actual HP one.

Although it looks like they would prefer to sell you a new laptop.

I hate the way they class batteries as "consumables" as they have a finite lifetime, but then stop making them.
