Bit of a weird thing to say isn't it, it's not as if they'll forcibly download it to your steam client and then every time you try to run a game exe hijack it and start codern poorfare instead.

Well I hope they don't.

People I know who've played in the office and at LANs say it's a pretty fun game, but sadly that model doesn't work so well for us. The singleplayer is all I've played and that certainly isn't worth the expenditure.

The game its self is presumably similar to COD4, but with shiny bits and a few differences. I've heard the customisable kill-streak thing can be annoying when the top player nukes the map, and that does put me off a little, but presumably they are settings that can be fiddled as in COD4. But without going into what's already being agued out in the other thread, I don't think the actual game is what people have a problem with, it's the technology around it.

I might be encouraged to give it a go with 5punkers if they had baths, pianos and falling cows.

Having to download it around 2.5 times wasn't a good start, now it wont connect to IWnet. Perhaps the game does suck after all.

Eh, I'd see that as under £4 a map, plus two classics free. That's not to say the price isn't cynically ramped up as it was for 360 gamers, but I don't think I can get angry about it.

And with regards to the ex-IW staff- good luck in your new ventures. I worry that by leaving you'll not be entitled to all that royalty cash you earned, but I guess Activision was trying to get out of paying you that anyway.
Massive irony in calling the new company Respawn though, seeing as spawn-points and "Nazi-cupboards" have been a major failing of theirs throughout the series.

I wouldn't expect anger.

But, I will point to Valve and Dice, who've been giving stuff away for free recently.

Just strikes me that activision are rather failing to understand the current state of PC gaming.
