If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

messenger links problems

Post by Joose »

HALP!

For quite a long time, links from any of my messenger programs have had a bit of an issue. I click on them, and the (sometimes) the link opens after about 30 seconds to a full minute. Sometimes it doesnt open at all. This means that I end up, often, with the link opening multiple times.

Its not really a major issue, but it is getting incresingly pissing irritating. Anyone know why its happening and what I can do about it?

Just to clarify, its hapening in all messenger programs, near as I can tell. Ive definately had the problem in msn, trillian, skype and xfire.

Strangely I had this problem on Sunday with Xfire, and I think Chicken may have as well, took ages and some links didn't open at all :?

I think it's a common problem.
I sometimes have to single or double click on links.
Bets solution is to just pop upon your browser from quicklaunch and copypaste the link.

I have the same problem all external links, xfire, my news and weather widgets, everything. It fixed itself once, then broke again.

I have no idea what it is and believe me, I have looked.

Go into Set Program Access & Defaults and make sure you specify Microsoft Internet Explorer as the default browser for internet links.

What versions of web browsers do you have on your system?

Well fuck me. I had a feeling someone was going to post a glaringly obvious solution and make me look a right tit, and I wasn't disappointed!

Just needed to set Foxy as the default and all is groovy.

Cheers old bean :w00t:
