5punky Game of the Year Award 2009

Post by Dog Pants »

Post your nominations here for the 5punky Game of the Year award 2009. This new award is being trialled to see if there are enough potential candidates for an award. It should be awarded to the game which has provided the best vehicle for 5punky shennanigans and silliness this year.

Polls will be added to reflect nominations in the new year.

Champions Online was fun while it lasted, even if it did end up just being me and Grimmie and then I outlevelled Grimmie three times over and made him stop playing.

I think I might agree there. As meh as I eventually found it, it certainly had that 5punkiness to it that's been pretty lacking this year. Not quite what CoH had, but given time it might catch up.

I did enjoy champeens, but the lag ruined it for me.
If they sorted out EU latency issues, I'd resubscribe tomorrow.

I tried it but it still couldn't convert me to the MMO-crowd, I did like flying about shooting gatling guns though. So Champions gets my vote, too.

Was keith this year? I think I asked this already?

It had zombies, was silly and fun and we titted about yet managed to get stuff right too.

Bumout! Crashing into stuff backward at a billion miles an hour is always fun.

Chimps was good but suffered the usual lots of stuff broken, flat spots and general lack of depth that pretty much every mmo arrives with now. At least they tried to be different.

I nominate WoW because of so many random lols and previously unimaginable apparent coordination. It's not all-inclusive, which is a shame - I'd like to have picked something that was, but not a lot this year has been.

If the 5punky game is the game with the most 5punky moments in it, its got to be WoW for me. Nothing else has matched it for moments of extreme silliness this year.

I'd go with Bumout Parasite, as I missed out on Keith & Chimps.
