How to access old HD's

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

How to access old HD's

Post by MORDETH LESTOK »

I brokedown and bought a nice SATA 500gb HD and installed it in my current pc that had mirrored ATA133 HDs.

XP install went flawlessly on the new drive (except the BootSector Write! Virus Y/N? and I had to choose Y to proceed), but I get an "access denied" when I try to go to my old user account on the old drives under documents and settings.

Is it because I had a password for the logon and therefore just need to remove the pw or is it something else ?

You need to take ownership of the old folders

Quite why it can't ask for authorisation I don't know. I might be authorised, it doesn't know.

TY...although, accidentally, I ended up booting up from the old drives so I just "un-privated" the user.

:ahoy:
