If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Graphics Tablets

Post by Fear »

Need a little help with some xmas shopping...

I've been asked by my Mum to get my Dad a graphics tablet for his Christmas pressie this year. She has upwards of £50 allocated to such a device, but doesn't want to spend £50 for spendings sake.

With that in mind is there anything in particular which you lot think would be just the job. Even nicer if it can be purchased online from a place I can also get a DVD writer and save on shipping, but that's a secondary consideration really.

So basically, up to £50, but spend less if you can so he can get some socks or sommit too.

Thanks!

PS: This is where I started: eBuyer, but having had 0 experience with such things I'd appreciate some advice.

Didn't someone around here get one from Amazon? *checks*

edit: One of these, I think. Wacom make good tablets but they're rarely cheap. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wacom-Volito-Ta ... 0009H7XAY/

Been good, not a big one, but does the job - not really practised with it enough.

It's the Wacom Volito, they seemed to be the market leaders, and it was recommended as a starter device by Neo Magazine for anime stuffs.

Its made by UC-Logic
Pressure sensitive pen, decent resolution.
No frills really, but it does the job and i think at £30 is great value
Perfect to pwn in isketch and the odd doodle

Yep, I've been using mine a bit and quite used to it now. It's a lot easier for certain things that using a mouse and does the job very nicely for the cheapness. Very happy with it.
