Game difficulty

Post by Joose »

Dont you just hate it when games have a learning right angle, instead of a curve?

Battle for middle earth is a piece of piss untill the battle for helms deep, where im suddenly getting gang raped. Im fairly certain the main reason im finding it so hard is because the other levels were so bloody easy. Im suddenly having to actually learn whats good against what, and how much things cost.

Havent had to worry about that till now. Just steamrollered through everything with huge amounts of cavelry. Unless I had Ents, in which case the closest I came to a strategy was "use the Ents", as they are practically invincable.

Silliness.

I found this at helms deep too,

I eventually won though god knows how!, I was down to just Aragorn and Boromir with all my buildings gone, bravely holding out against a gazillion orcs waiting till the reinforcments arrived.

When they did I hammered them pretty quickly, good fun, but not very realistic!

thats *almost* what happened last night that sent me into a rage. I was down to that bloody dwarf and about 10 seconds left, so i was just trying to make him run away for the remaining time.

Needless to say, he was peppered with tiny wooden death from half a dozen orc crossbowmen. Bastards.

What really pissed me off was the last stand bit at the top, you can shut the gate so supposedly no one can get in, but there's a door at the side that they all come in through anyway, what's the point of having a massive defensable gate when there's another way in!?!

Quite!

"the front doors locked, lads, lets nip round the back."

I presumed it was one of those gates that only your guys can get through, so i didnt defend it at all. Silly me.

aha! i am teh win!

the key for utter domination, it would appear, is shitloads of archers. Shitloads of them.

Crowd the deeping wall with them, and make sure you take out the ladders and the fellas with bombs, and its a pice of cake.

As for the battering ram, use one of those little hidden doors, and pop a couple of heros through every time they turn up.

I managed to defend it without the getting through the gate or breaching the deeping wall. Hah!
