Sam & Max

Post by spoodie »

So the new Sam & Max is out in a couple of days, the first episode at least. Although it looks like you can only pre-order all of the episodes in one go at the moment. I'm hoping that this will change once it's released.

Edge gave it 6/10 and Eurogamer gave it 9/10. :?

I'll probably end up getting it at some point as I loved the original, how about you?

I liked the original, although I've not played it for a very very long time. I may check this out if my gaming calendar permits!

I loved the first one, as did PC Gamer who gave the new one a tearful 61%.

The Tell Tale forums seem to suggest that it's really good but a bit easy.

I bought the original and found it frustrating, but half of the content of all the reviews I've read seem to be saying that's fixed.

The other half seems to be saying how "faithful" it is. Faithful to what, I don't know, presumably this is a comic or a TV show somewhere, but I'd never heard of them before or since the original game.

There was a comic and a cartoon, which are hard to come by in the UK. To YouTube!

edit: Hmm, not good but if you want to look yourself: http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=fr34kystyley

I have the trade collection of the comic books, and I have to say the original game was pretty faithful to the comic. The Sam and Max characters were toned down a bit, I think, but not much.

Episode 2 is out and here's a review.
I've got it and played some, seems as easy as the previous one but I don't expect lengthy play out of these, repeated lines of comedy writing stop being funny after the first time so lets get through this. Any one else willing to give it a go?

There's several news items I could have moved over but I didn't think it was worth it for a game that not many people (want to) play.
