Just been watching Troy on DVD....

Did they not read the illiad? even summarised notes?

and why did Agamemnon, allegedly a brilliant tactical mind, unbeaten on the battlefield, go into a battle against someone famous for thier walls without any siege engines *at all*. Not even a bloody ladder.
What were they going to do when/if they got to the walls? stick it with pointy sticks till it got fed up and went away?

Muppets.

What Ive always wondered is how come when someone is seiging an absolutely massive castle, their ladders are always exactly the right size
