Garry's Mod Competition #2

Post by Grimmie »

HELLO ONE AND ALL, AND WELCOME TO THE SECOND MONTHLY GARRY'S MOD CONSTRUCTION COMPETITION!

While the votes are still being collated to determine the winner of Septembers short and fast-paced competition, October's competition begins today. Entries are due in by the end of this month at midnight, so you've all got loads of time to perfect your machines.

This month's competition.. SIEGE ENGINES!
Think catapults, trebuchets, battering rams, seige towers, arbelasts!
Fully functioning, videos and pictures please, .sav files would also be quite lovely.

Points awarded for effectiveness and awesomeness!

I'd also like to suggest people build their targets out of wooden objects such as wardrobes and tables, as they're quite destructable. But if you prefer to build a steel-reinforced fort from scratch and anihalate it with a barrage of flaming explosive barrels, then go ahead! We're looking for WOW! factor. Not to be confused with the gentle elixer of X Factor.

My entry (5mb):

I also tried to make a catapult, it worked, but the barrels didn't explode on landing (and it couldn't fire anything heavier) so I gave up on that.

Mighty indeed!

Not really worked on a siege engine yet, but my vehicle is a very phallic dragster, with passenger seats attached to the carosel wheels which makes for a very interesting ride. :)

I may well be after tuition on Gmod at some point as I have loads of brilliant (if I do say so myself!) ideas and they always turn out shit without exception :(

That'd be nice Mr Yak. I've had a go at those Van Whatsit devices before on an early incarnation but it was a bit pants. Looking forward to spending much of this weekend getting reacquainted. I suspect beer may help this.
