More meat for the grinder

Post by Fear »

I have another friend of mine joining the land of EVE tonight, and i'm fairly sure he too will become addicted.

Is there a certain race that he would be best suited being? I mean for fw4ppers/5punk - is there a certain race we could do with around, etc.

Otherwise he'll prolly just pick Caldari like everyone else does.

His name will be, I suspect, TraveyB, so if you see him wanting to join fw4p can you OK it please. Ta.

Even though I don't play anymore.. From experience so he can start quickly..
Whatever race-space you guys stay in.

When I first started we were in frulegur, in minmatar space, so I went as them.
More or less so I didnt have to get confused and jump 50 times when I first started off.

Oddly enough I voted Minmatar too - not that it really matters. But we've got lots and lots of Caldari and Gallente, not so many Amarr, and hardly any Gallente at all now that He Who Shall Be Shunned has left. Minmatar will also start near the Fwappers training ground and so will be a little more convenient.

Make sure he does the whole tutorial though!

Also: <strike>It really doesn't matter, they are all equally useful to us</strike> WERD!

Oooo that's a good point actually, the missions around Khank were v shit to begin with as my standing was piss poor.

I would edit the poll but it seems I can't?

I'd advice minmatar, because in the long run (and lets face it, eve is all about the long run) Minmatar pwn hard.

And they start off closest to khank

Also, poll edited =)

Structured answer: Our stuff is cheaper, at the Battleship level we alpha hardest, so are most useful in PVP. Stuff is cheap(ish) and there's few things that hurt harder than a vagabond (I can think of 4, from several hundred ships). Oh yer, and how kick ass is a rifter :)

ps. Jove space is top-right in the galaxy view.
Unplayable NPC's bought in during the cold-war update.

Jovians Pre-date cold war by a long while. The devs played as jovians on TQ quite alot in beta, and the first T2 BPO (a miner II as odds would have it) was given away by the jovians

Yup. The first ship with jump drives wass Jovian. There was a big event scheduled, with lots of people logging in to see the first ever Jump. The ship vanished, and never returned. The next day, lots of people logged in to find iddy biddy bits of Jovian Pilot in their hangers, as the drive had malfunctioned and spread him accross the universe. There was a big thing about all the bits being collected and given back to the jovians, so they could put him back together again.

I think I still had a bit of him when I stopped playing.

On a more relevant note: Go Minmatar. For all of the reasons above (rifters really do pwn for their class), plus the fact that you can then heap scorn on the smelly amarr and their silly shiny ships.

Amarr ships are ftw and you knows it! Yea, go Minmatar, rifter's can do level 2 missions with a passive shield tank... that's proof enough that they do rock.
