Sony blames the delay on production issues with blue laser diodes needed for the Blu-ray (and HD DVD) Disc drives.

Blimeh.
When you think about it, both Microsoft and Sony have had roughly the same amount of time here to iron out bugs, its just that Microsoft have been selling the console at the same time.
So, the PS3 will be coming out late, there wont be as many games available for it at launch as there is for the 360, its not going to be significantly more powerfull (apart from the blue ray thing), its probably going to be considerably more expensive, and the console itself is a fugly bastard. Oh, and thier attempt to mimic the Wii controllers is embarrasing in the extreme. Nice going, Sony.

It's not the delay in itself, but the way it's automatically the European release that gets knocked back, not the US or Japanese one.
I would have picked the PS3 over the 360 and the Wii, but I'm not waiting six months just because they think they can dick Europeans around - I will have bought something else.
/goes to look at Enchanted Arms

How?PS3 will still be better
why?and to be honest this whole delay is understandable
pfft! no more so than the 360's.the chips are hard to make
yes they have. Wheras Microsoft launched the 360 bugs and all, and fixed things whilst making money. Not saying thats better for us. Better for them though.sony have already wasted millions trying to fix it
Heh, its not a matter of patience. It not like im going to get one either way. Hell, even if it were the best thing in the know universe I wouldnt be waiting for it at the moment, I cant afford it. Im just amused at sony's inept handling of the next gen console situation.Just be patient
Microsoft have got the backing of the masses.
Nintendo have got the backing of people who like quirky games, or people who dont normally play games.
Sony appears to only have the backing of fanboys.
