Gazumping and other related stressful things

Post by Woo Elephant Yeah »

Sorry I've not been around, but the vendors of the house we wish to buy are now threatening to take the property of the market entirely and rent instead, unless the sale goes through in just under 2 weeks.

Unless the buyers of ours can get their solicitors to pull their fingers out, we are going to be gazumped, right before we go on holiday on the 8th for 2 weeks :(

I don't see how people can do this and live with themselves, but oh well.
Wish our goverment were as clued up as Scotland, where this kind of thing can't happen.

On top of this baby woo has been very poorly, so it's been a pretty shitty weekend to be honest.

Lets hope a few phonecalls on Tuesday can sort things out, otherwise it's looking pretty bad, and we will be a few grand out of pocket, and have several months delay on finding a new place and so on, and possibly losing the buyers of our house :(

Just thought I'd let you know why I haven't responded to many PM's and so on

:( I hope it works out for you. Try and get any solicitors and agents you have on the case for you, as it's the sort of stuff they're used to dealing with and it takes a bit of the stress away from you.

I know a few people this happened to, and while it sucked hard at the time, they actually got much better houses in the end. Hopefully it won't come to that though, it is a stressful time, but try not to let it get to you too much as the happiness of your family > all.

Hoorah, the house exchange should happen tomorrow, (means the guy can;t pull out without it costing him over £16,000, and baby Abigail is now healthy and well.

Seems she had a virus, allthough they don't know what, it's just one of those things.

All is well with the world :aww:
