Admin Behaviour on the BF2 ranked server.

It has been brought to my attention that admins on the beef server may not be obeying our admin rules (Specifically the 2+ warnings)

This really isn't on, we must try to obey our own rules as much as possible - Especially as far as 2 clear warnings, (ideally IDing yourself as admin or using the !W command)

Just to be clear, this is a bollocking for all of us, no-one specific*

It's possible this was an isolated incident that was seen, so don't worry.

We should hold ourselves to a higher standard than others. not lower.

Other than that, fucking good job lads - we've got a busy server full of sensible players (not too much faggotry)

This is down to all of us admining properly, only breaking out the kick/banstick when absolutely needed.

I'll also post and sticky a thread clarifying our server rules for players and admins - that way we'll have a good reference to work from.

Should some (or all) of the permanent bans be changed to temporary ones? I didn't serve them, so don't know the specifics, but is it worth reviewing them, or perhaps having a thread about them?

Almost certainly.

narf, i'd be willing to delete all the bans - often they're just given (especially perm ones) as a speed thing, it's difficult to work out how many minutes are in a day mid game

Speaking of bannings, how do the ingame ones work as far as time limits are concerned? I think I banned one person for being a complete twat once, then returning to continue being a twat after being warned and eventually kicked, but I only used "!b name cuntcuntcunt" to do it, is that permanent by default or... ?

Just to be clear, are some people kicking/banning without warning? I usually am too busy playing to do much admin shit, but I can see a problem if no warnings are being given first.

Ah, ok then. I'd hate to strip someone of their admin rights because of this, especially if they've paid for the server, but we gotta follow procedure. We don't want to be know as a bunch of cunts and fags who kick and ban for no legit reason.

This, there's no way anyone's gonna lose rights yet at least.

But, it *IS* possible that we'll nerf someone's rights if it happens too much.

Should be the same rules for Admins, if an Admin behaves in an unreasonable way give them a warning, and again, and again, if they still behave like a twat, admin rights removed, job done.

If another Admin is on the server ask them what they think about kicking a player, united 5punky kickings FTW. Also I havn't used a ban yet as a kick has done the trick so far.

He did have admin on a trial basis (given he often plays after others).

And yeah, while it wasn't an abuse of admin rights, it was kinda out of order.

If the commander is shit, start a mutiny, at a push warn/kick. don't shout at him like an deranged 10 year old.

several factors may have been involved:

the RAGE
repeated use of cartillery on his behalf
alcohol and/or caffeine
more RAGE

Also i have never kicked or banned anybody and couldnt even get bf2cc to work. Hmmm only 10 months ago
