I wouldn't normally go for this myself, but as I've set up a team in
Pro Fantasy F1 with some mates anyway, I thought I'd see if there was any interest here for another 5punky league? I don't really follow F1 much, but I know that at least one 5punker loves it, and there may be some closet fans here too, so any interest?

This really has little to no point, you just take Hamilton and the two Ferraris and win.
Also new season starting this weekend so GO MASSA.

Nah, FIA have done some odd things with the rules this year anyway with regards to the cars, and the new team is by all appearances at testing recently, going to be on level with the top teams for performance.
As long as the FIA stop pandering to Ferrari it might be a good season. Trivia for you: Last year McLaren were stripped of points for using Ferrari testing data, did you know Ferrari themselves ran an illegal car due to some sprung underpan for 4 races at the start and were never penalised for it?
Most amusing.

I was about to mention this, along with other fucked up rules that are pretty terrible, IMO.

Brawn cars were amongst the fastest. The mclarens are off pace this year, they haven't got the diffuser system right on the front or the back of the car supposedly.
I think their rules to make it better have actually made it more boring.

Well if people want to join, the league is called Formula Waugh, and the password is cranberry. I think the first two rounds are "practice rounds" so points are reset after Malaysia, so there's a bit of time to join if you want.

I was going to give it a bash, but it wants my address and phone number. I can't see any reason why I should provide anything other than my email address.
Incidentally, they reversed the new rules on scoring last week so it's still the same as last season. Also, the diffuser thing is a rules squabble over what constitutes a hole.

I left them blank when filling in the form.

Fair enough. Right, well that seems remarkably easy to make an almost exclusively Ferrari team, but The Anthill Mob is ready to roll. With Ferrari constructor, engine, and top driver (Massa), I'm surprisingly well equipped. I think this will come down to the lower end drivers. There's also the McLaren wildcard - if this diffuser thing goes against them it could fuck them right up, but if not it might give them a real advantage. However, I think it will go against them, and even if it doesn't the other teams will probably have copied it by mid season.
So in fact my hopes are resting on Fisichella.

Yeah, but cars are fuckall if your driver's along the lines of Takuma Sato.

I disagree unfortunately, they're all talented drivers in F1, they have to be to get into F1, it's just the cars make such a massive difference.
Take Hamilton, if he hadn't have been at McLaren (or, say, Ferrari) he wouldn't have won as many races as he did, if any at all.

Except when they're only taken in because they bring engine companies with them.
And would you stop proving me wrong already?

I've picked top drivers and rubbish teams, as you get a point per lap they manage not to crash, but only a one-off bonus on the teams for finishing well.
I couldn't bring myself to have any 1st-team Ferarri in it at all though.

I watched today's race and thought "Yes! Button was in my team! In your face 5punkers!".
Then I logged on and realised that not only had I removed him from my team during selection, I'd forgot to submit the team anyway. I'm such a spaz.
