Warhammer Online

For those of you that love MMO's and have long beards, then this is probably one of the most anticipated games out there at the moment.

You can check out the progress of this game here at http://www.warhammeronline.com and I thought I'd mention it, as I think an awful lot of you probably have fond memories of battling orcs on plastic grasslands and so on.

Looks like quite an interesting game after reading through, and this is the only thing on the horizon that looks likely to overtake World Of Warcraft as the MMO

I was looking at this and it sounds pretty good. Its PVP orientated and the battle system sounds like it might be interesting. I might give it a go when its released, I doubt it'll come close to beating Eve in gameplay but it stands a chance of beating WoW in popularity. Only problem is its set for a Q4 2007 release...

This was the title I was looking forward when it was anounced around the same time as WoW; much darker and more sinister. I am pleased it has struggled through development, but slightly concerned that Mythic have picked it up.

I played DAoC for years and have seen how their [Mythic's] lethargic management can ruin a game.

I will definetly try this but I have become very cynical regarding MMONG's these days.

If it's not too expensive, I think I will play it. I got tired of how cartoony WoW is, maybe this'll be a bit grittier. Then again, that might suck. Plus, I'd have to admit to playing warhammer...

pah. My Beard reputation is upheld by such remarks. Warhammer FTW.

(although, I was always a 40k player. The elves and imperials and such got on my nerves.)

This^

I'm fairly sure if I get WAR I'm going to be playing as one of the bad guys.

As there isn't intended to be inter-alliance communication, should be maybe pick a side for 5punkers? I assume Alts will be possible though.

I think the wiki on it says all races except the undead are playable, I think. It's possibly wrong though. I think I'd go for skaven, too, if possible.

Hmm. It would Win mightily if Skaven are in, but the official site appears to imply (ive not looked in detail) that the playable races are High Elves (too poncy), Dark Elves (too emo), Dwarves (too short), Empire (too boring), Greenskins (meh) or Chaos.

So I'll probably be Chaos.

I had a look through last night and they do make it sound good. Although they also make me think that all the RvR stuff could be turn out to be a Serious Business.
