This time I'm serious
We're in trouble. It's quite simple: not enough play time. For various reasons people can't or won't play Eve at the moment. When we set up the POS chain we were averaging about 10 - 12 people online a night. We now have maybe 1 or 2. That would be enough to keep things ticking over if we were well established, but we're not yet and I can't do it by myself. Very soon Mordeth will be unavailable to haul, Hulk will be away, and Fw4ppers will have their own POS to worry about. That'll leave....me.
So....
Option 1: When those of you who can log on, help me out with fuelling the POS's, running stuff to Tycho, or even just updating the fuel tracking sheet. If we all muck in a bit then we can keep it going. It's not full time, and I've put all the necessary structures in place to make it easy to do, including offices, ice mining locations, bookmarks, contacts, contracts, haulers, spreadsheets and and a shared online fuel tracking sheet.
Option 2: Don't. The towers will run out of fuel and sit there until someone destroys them. We'll have no isk, no investment and frankly at that point I'll fulfill my threat to leave the corp and go join one that works.
This is not a rant. This is simply stating facts. If anyone wants 5punkorp to continue growing and developing as it has done over the last 6 months then we need a little commitment. If not, then by all means go back to Elgoi and mine veldspar.
No excuses as to why you can't play at the mo please. I've heard them all. Constructive comments only.

Well, the Fw4ppers POS can't work if we bring down 5punkorp to do it. It wasn't ever going to be profitable anyway. If you need hauling done, please let me know. Lately I've been mining so I can recruit, instead of the more profitable ratting in Jaymass, that requires I watch local like a hawk. (Lately being this weekend for a few hours).
The general concensus on the recruiting band was bleak those hours, but I know the effort was well-placed, as our numbers are dwindling. But rather than let our POS's get ganked due to inattention, does anyone feel it worth the effort to deconstruct them for storage until we can revive the 5punky way? Perhaps we grew too fast, along with a hit for members and playtime.
I'm wondering what I can do to help. I'll set up Dres on a schedule for afk hauling if that can help. Hell, I'd rather sell my BS for isk than have the corp go under, but Friz is right, one man can't do it.
But many hands make light work, so if many hands can work together, we'll do it. If many hands turn away, a great 5punky thing will be lost.
But in tribute of what has come before, i will keep Fw4ppers alive as long as I can keep members in it. Only if all the towers are running and the fuel nicely stocked will Fw4ppers build a POS of it's own. I apologize if I've neglected my duties to support the corp.

To be honest I'm just getting a bit bored of the whole carebear thing. That and the fact i've been doing learning skills for the last month so I havent had anything new to play with.
I had an idea that about making a seperate 5punk pvp corp but that wont work if 5punkorp dies. I dont want that happening so I suppose I'll do some hauling

with everything thats been said today...I've realized that I'm done with EVE. I won't be renewing my scrip after I move out at the end of august.
The first 2 months were sweet always learning always having fun. This last month when I got my BS was the begining to the end for me. Everything is just repetive and boring to me now. PvP seems to be the only thing left and I'm not interested in it so...
Thanks for the good times and all the teachings! In Oct/Nov I'll be looking for a new game to get into and will be looking to join up with the 5punkers again.

We're just at the critical juncture at the mo and not helped by the #@%!
There's no need to create a separate corp for PvP. You can get more than enough in 5punkorp if you want it and you'll get the full support of the corp to do so. Just from time to time I may ask for an escort or a scout, which you PvPers will be well placed to provide.
I have to believe there's something else in play here, an ulterior motive. With all due respect, you've barely scratched the surface of Eve. You fill your time with missions and ice mining, which while hugely appreciated would bore the pants of well, a dog frankly. I'm impressed that you've lasted this long.MORDETH LESTOK wrote:with everything thats been said today...I've realized that I'm done with EVE. I felt the same way about PvP - not interested and frankly more than irritating everytime I got ganked. Until I learned to accept that it was part of the challenge of Eve: making a grand plan work against the odds; only risking what I could afford to lose; becoming part of a grand vision (ISS) and not just sitting in high sec mining veld until my eyes bled. We have the means to do it, I have the will do it. Do you?
Giving up is anathema to me. Failure is not in my vocabulary. Facing the challenges of this game makes it one of the very best MMOs out there.

Nopes, I just don't like EVE. I liked the amazing amount of info to learn at first. But there's nothing left other than PVP.friznit wrote:I have to believe there's something else in play here, an ulterior motive.
Its not about facing a challenge/quiting/failing. Its about realizing that NPC content is only 5% of the game and after that its all about PVP(gate camping/bubbles/ganking...etc) which as I said doesn't interest me. And if i'm not gonna PVP, there's no point to go on for me.
I quit EQ to search for a new MMOG. The search goes on...
Other than production, POS chains, research, T2 trees, fleetwork in deadspaces, outpost building, politics, diplomacy, regional coordination, intrigue, news media, eve radio, factional warfare, npc events, marketing, trading...yes, I agree, there's not much more to this game than ratting and PvP.MORDETH LESTOK wrote: Nopes, I just don't like EVE. To be quite honest, what your describing there is large scale alliance fleet ops. Which is dull.MORDETH LESTOK wrote:Its about realizing that NPC content is only 5% of the game and after that its all about PVP(gate camping/bubbles/ganking...etc) which as I said doesn't interest me.
The stuff I spent 8 months very happily doing in BS.I (9th month doesn't count. alliance ops ftfl, amongst other things) was solo and small scale skirmishes, which are amazingly fun. I'll happily raise my hand and say I did do my share of ganking, but when you get a good fight if can really make you week. I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I probably bored the pants of some of the other 5punkers with war story after war story of amazingly fun fights of me vs 2-3 people and winning, a small BS.I fleet (4-5 guys) taking on 10+ and winning, a large scale op of 15 of us going to stain with BSs and killing a fairly frightening number of SA and SE before they managed an 80 man blob, locked down the system and killed us (sorry, can't help myself).
However, if your convinced that PVP sucks, and eve isn't for you, fair enough, glad to have known you

a nice list of things to do with lots of people which we dont have...friznit wrote:Other than production, POS chains, research, T2 trees, fleetwork in deadspaces, outpost building, politics, diplomacy, regional coordination, intrigue, news media, eve radio, factional warfare, npc events, marketing, trading...yes, I agree, there's not much more to this game than ratting and PvP.
If we can't do it, it's in Red
If we can do it, it's in blue
If it's plain old white, Jurys out with me, but I'd like to think we could
I've done T2 production solo (built half a douzen stealth bombers from BPCs). It's well within our capacity.
2-3 people properly fitted can spank a 6/10 complex dead. We're not lacking on skills for this.
Politics, pff, no, we never do that.
Diplomacy, been there, done that. Next.
We do the radio thing every once in a while.
Factional Warfare is comming, and if it's going to be within the ability of solo players to do, I dare say we can do that (I'm confused as to why it's in there though)
NPC events are a bit hit and miss in even being in one, but it's good fun with the single one I've ever done
We've all done trading at one point or another. I remeber wiggy making millions a day just by moving guns 10 jumps from domain to rens.

We've been doing research for the last year or so, granted it's only basic T1 BPOsfriznit wrote:

children.
this stuff happens, arguing with someone to tell them why they shouldn't be bored with a game... that's just fucking stupid.
The best you can do right now, for 5punk and 5punkorp is thank mordeth for his help, make sure he knows he's welcome to come back to 5punkorp if he decides to start again. and that 5punk is a community, there's a lot more to it than just eve.

Sorry, my bad. Nasty habit of going overboard and once again I've stuck my foot firmly down my throat. I apoligise, and as I said, glad to have known you Mord. Also, Can I have you stuff?
Agreed. But pointing out that there's a whole lot more to a game after they've spent several months of time and effort getting this far and maybe havn't seen it all yet, is not pointless. I've no qualms whatsoever if people want to go play something else although of course I'm sad to see someone as active and helpful to the corp as Mordeth go. But both he - and you, Berk - only scratched the surface before denouncing it as boring. Personally, I've been at it for 9 months and I've still got loads to explore. I've never played a game that's kept me interested for more than a month or two, so this is rather fascinating.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:children.

I'm not pissed of M, just surprised and rather disappointed to hear you're leaving. And I felt I had to defend the game a bit when you say there's nothing other than PvP - that was a list of stuff that I do on a regular basis that ain't PvP - usually with corp members but just as often with mates from within the Alliance.
WHAT'S ALL THIS SHOUTING? WE'LL HAVE NO SERIOUSNESS HERE!
I'll try and be there a bit but I cant promise much im afraid, as trying to find somewhere to live and time is getting shorter, and requirement to find somewhere is getting bigger!
But I promise there will extra helpings of bummings for you next time Friz (with maybe even some ice cream on top)
