Birmingham Lan. Am you still interested?

Post by TezzRexx »

Exactly what it says on the tin really. Dates: July-Sept everyone seemed to agree on before.

Also: Mr Bobbins had found a rather handy website - http://www.gametribe.net/gtlan/info.html

Basically, we could either go as group and join them, or we could organise one ourselves. There's various Pro's and Con's to both.

Pro's to GTLan-
Everything sorted out for us, so there will be no hiccups what so ever

Con's-
We'll be with another group, so it wouldn't be as intimate (lawl) as just 5punk only. However, this was kinda a good thing at LANse...

So Yeah, post if you're still interested in coming to either and post which type of LAN you would prefer.

I'd love to, but in all probability I won't be able to. Which sucks given that I live in birmingham.

Yep, interested :)

Obviously prefer a 5punk only, but depends on numbers, not much point if there are only 6 people.

If we're looking at a 5punk only one at a proper venue like this then there is more flexibility with dates so we can try and get as many 5punkers as possible, perhaps some kind of complicated date voting system to rule out no-go dates.

But then do you think there are actually enough 5punk members willing to go?

How can they resist after seeing the sexy mugshots from the last 2 LANs?

I'd be interested, depending on transport, money, and life stuff™ at the time.

I've missed both so far and I'm itching to get to one (at least I think that's what the itching is).

Sponsors of the GT10 Lan - Valve Software - creators of HALF-LIFE.

THE NEXT LAN IS 16-18th June, 2006.

Book now and avoid disappointment!

We are a small and friendly gaming community who play for laughs and for fun. We do our best to provide you with the best informal Lanning experience we can, at the same time providing reliable gaming servers, internet access and some great competitors whilst you join others in some great games which include, of course, Valve's very own Half-Life! Read some of the previous Lan comments to see how people keep coming back from more

Pop into the forums at www.gametribe.net/forums and come along and have a banter!
Let me check I'm not doing anything already planned with Mrs Woo, and I'll let you know if I can definitely come or not.

On a plus side, they sound like they have a familiar take on gaming to us, and play for a laugh, so it might work quite well.

I think he meant Tezz's dates if we're trying for a 5punkLAN

September is best for me at the moment

Hi Guys. I'm Loxy from Gametribe. Nice to visit your site. You are all welcome to the GT Lan should you wish to come. We are a friendly bunch but appreciate that friends wish to sit together. I speak to everyone/anyone, so would introduce you to others etc, but on the whole those that go to GTLans chat to everyone anyway - who can resist checking out other peoples machines etc!

If you have any questions - the information is on the website, we have run them successfully for 3 years now. www.gametribe.net/gtlan. Next Lan June 16th - after that it will be October (ish).

If you are still curious about anything, please get in touch, I'll be glad to help you.

loxy@gametribe.net.

Do you have the possibility to rent machines? Cos I sure as hell won't be able to get a lift there (Anybody from cambridge, no?).. And also, because of that, train links? :)

Its a Lan for over 18's - so its a bring your own. Always plenty there! :)

Showers are there but not working unfortunately - though the loo's are ample - so bring a flannel and wash yourself all over! (don't forget to bring a towel too - there is usually soap there though).
