Well, we all know that 5punkers are gamers, but what other stuff do you like to do, and what interests you?

I used to do a lot of mountain biking, keep intending to get back into it, but it keeps being too hot or too cold (and given my knees are made of cheese these days, never really get far)

Other than that, I like guns, and anything mechanical really (used to do a lot of bike mech work, should probably build that fucking car)

Chernobyl (and other nuclear SNAFUs) seem to please my mind too.

Computers, not really my first love, but keep me sane.

Oh, and documentaries about damn near anything, can't get enough of them.

Edit: oops, I kinda like food too, cooking and nomming of. :)

My son, books, anime and music.

I only get my son every other weekend, but it's alot much fun to spend time with him. Anime, I watch too much anime probably, I don't have tv service and most american shows suck imo. There are one or two shows I watch every once and a while like house, but I rarely do that.

As for books, I get in moods where I can do nothing but read for weeks, like when I decided I wanted to read the Jack Ryan series by Clancy and bought them all and read one right after another.

Music I listen to almost all the time, almost all genres too. I also like to play, I dabble in guitar and keys, and pc generated stuff. Also like to record bands, I took record engineering classes in lieu of college heh, and have done live sound for a few local bands.

When I'm sat here, I do enjoy a good RTS although mostly lately I've found myself playing more and more teef. Custom maps are way better than the crud valve is kicking out, and having a few servers that always seem to attract friendly players in my favourites list helps alot.

Books, not so much. I use to read like mad, but honestly the last time I remeber picking up a book was the last harry potter august last year while I was in training.

I love motorbikes. They're awesome fun to ride, they're generally easy to fix (Buggered if I can do electrics on it, but then my brother did just qualify as a trained electrican so that's more his area now anyway) when something does go wrong, they're cheap to drive and keep on the road, and motorbike only camping events are usually filled with beer, spirits and win.

When the weathers good, like recently, I like breating out my dual suspension bike and haring off down to the local BMX track that's only 1/2 mile down the road to belt around it for a few laps (and keep my nerve in good shape. It's not overly safe  ) or ride a few miles up the canal to this awesome pub that's out in the middle of no-where for a quick beer.

I'm more addicted to books than computer games. I have to deliberately stop reading otherwise I don't get any sleep.

I like traveling, but rarely get the time outside business trips, which are generally to shit places.

I love horses. I really do. I own a polo pony although I'm not playing this season due to new job, new location, new house and everything else that comes with a complete change of direction in my life.

Tanks. Proper big ones, not what the press call tanks, but Main Battle Tanks built around a 120mm main armament that spits out depleted uranium at 7km/s. Sadly bindun and not likely to ever get another go.

Reading. There's lots of books I like, particularly of gaming franchise (Warcraft, Mass Effect, Star Wars).
Skiing. is fun, doing it once a year.
Drinking. There's nothing better than slowly destroying your own liver.
Girls. Goes without saying.
Boys Oops how did this get here?
Music. Particularly anything that goes higher than the pain limit in volume.
Tennis. Right, not really playing, I only watch it.
TV. I'm not particularly fond of movies (except a few good ones, par example Die Hards), but good crime, scifi or action series can keep me interested.

Please forgive the triple appearance of the word "particularly".

What interests nunoncastors?

Well, I like books to a slightly worrying degree, with Waterstones being my equvalent of a crack house. It's mainly classics, but I'll give anything a try once. I can't stand Kerouac, have a soft spot for Pratchett and a small and secret love of ghost stories. Recently I've been dabbling with Manga but am yet to make my mind up.

I cycle everywhere but am yet to take up leg shaving and become a proper cross-country rider. It's mainly a health thing, and I do clock up about 100 miles a week.

Skiing = Win, courtesy of Mr. Lat and his excellent choice in inviting me along on a trip a few years ago.

Other than that, I don't know really, I'm a bit esoteric I guess. I like being out in the countryside and seeing things that, so far as I know, no one else has.

I've got a map of the UK with all the strange little things marked on it, turf mazes, barrows, henges - I'm not a hemp-wearing new-ager, but I do find them curious and enjoy wandering around them.

History holds my attention well, the British Museum has long been a favourite haunt of mine (time and cash permitting) if only to look at the Sutton Hoo hoard.

I've a thing for photographing the sky, sunsets, and graffitti too, I suppose that counts as an interest. All sorts, really ^_^

I'm remarkably similar to Amblin apparently:

Books - I'm never not reading a book. Since I was able to read I always have, I read for a minimum of an hour a day. <strike>The most books I have been reading at once was about five.</strike> I rarely have more than one book on the go, but I do pick up books that are part of a series/trilogy etc, and if I like the first one, I'll compulsively read the next one, and almost everything else by the same author. Like Friz, I also have to watch myself when reading or I'll find that I haven't gone to sleep and its 3 hours after I intended to.

Cooking - <strike>I'm an okay cook,</strike> I like to think of myself as a pretty good cook, and worked as a part-time chef in a pub for a couple of years. Sometimes I produce stuff a chef would be happy with, most of the time I just cook stuff that tastes nice

Boats - sailing, rowing, motoring, general pootlage - I used to sail loads as a kid, and kayak, and have a constant wish to arrange a week on the Norfolk Broads (or similar) with a bunch of mates. Generally too expensive though. :(

Camping - I have a MASSIVE tent I'm rather proud of

Driving - love my car (even if it's just a Focus) though haven't gone for a drive for its own sake in ages

Girls - <strike>my current interest is being difficult and we're not so much a couple as an 'it's complicated'. Thinking of trying to find a different interest.</strike> I have one. Rather fond of her, and apparently we've been together over 4.5 years now. Eek.

Consoles - I play <strike>pro evo</strike> Fifa more than anything else. Consoles are for playing games with 'offline' mates. GTA is also awesome.

Gardening - I'm a fire and forget gardener, I plant seeds and fuck off for three months, bitch about the weeds the whole time and just <strike>mow the</strike> wish I had a lawn rather than just a concrete yard.

Beaches, walking, being outside - I actually love just being outside going for a walk somewhere, or playing silly childish games on the beach. I often have camping/walking weekends away, and it's always lovely.

Pubs - Not around home, but I do enjoy a nice pint or two out and about. It helps with the walking.

Last but in no means least - Skiing. I fucking love it. Best sport and holiday in the world.

Aside from getting run over, shockingly, i do get out and have a few interests.

I like walking with big pairs of headphones around my local area (lots of nice woods, open green areas and stuff), did use to swim a lot, but it's got pricey recently so i don't do it as much. Haven't been airsofting for a while either. I've recently taken up stenciling as no doubt you have seen the board spammed with them. Started playing squash infrequently too :)

As far as tv goes, most of it disappoints aside from Never Mind the Buzzcocks, My Name Is Earl, Family Guy, Futurama, and select other programs.

Other than that, MUSICS (makin' too). Drinking, wimmins and partying; whimmy wham wham wazzle!

Uhm.

I likes:

Cycling, occasional XC, some downhill, some longish rides.

Graffiti; more stencils than that whole tagging thing. Still got a fair bit of my stuff in various places around Newcastle/ Sunderland. Fair bit of it was shit, though.

Musics: good music.

Chemistry/ Chem Engineering: Well, It's what I do, so it kinda counts as an interest. I also like blowan shit up.

Food/ cooking: related to the chem stuff, really. Same attraction, mildly more edible produce.

Films, books etc. also interest me, I sometimes read comics, but I don't like buying them and the local community are......lacklustre.

I also like the standardised PARTAY, DRINKAY, WIMMIN-SEXAY stuff.

I'm remarkably similar to Amblin apparently:

<strike>Books </strike> PDF files - Mostly how tos, origami guide thingos, and more how-tos.

<strike>Cooking</strike> Vegetables - I eat vegetables.

Motorbikes - so awsum. Rrrrrrrrrrm ... rrrrrrrrrm rrrrrrm ... Only ride, cand't do anything technical.

<strike> Girls </strike> Persons - I have one probably.

Consoles - My 360 isn't at my house. :( Rockstar's table tennis is my bestest game just now.

Dumb things - I like making paper into things. I love film and after effects. I can make bad 3-D models. Beds are awesome. Sleeping is the second bestest thing in life next to do things.

kk I'm done.

I like to read, mostly Discworld novels but also thrillers, I too have the bad habit of having to horse myself to put the book down or before I know it its wake up times.

I tinker with wood and brass and things whilst wearing goggles occasionally

I draw a lot, mostly comics but also tattoo's in the old school 50's style.

I read comic books like they are going out of fashion.

I goto the gym a lot and lift heavy things whilst blowing myself kisses in the wall length mirrors.

I also box two nights a week for funsies.

Girlies, in a relationship with one and she's crazy but ace with a cracking arse.
Sometimes I have time to play games.

Used to read a lot, as in a day off would see me read 3/4 discworld or a weighty tome like lord of the rings cover to cover. Not so much now, don't find the time although I'm starting to read whilst I travel to and from work.

I would consider myself a good cook and a very good chef, both being very different things imo.

Eating and drinking nice stuff is (generally) better than making it in my eyes, it's good to enjoy something you crafted but after lots of dishes the edge is gone from my hunger and I just want a beer instead.

Random facts/pub quizzage. I enjoy the pub and enjoy my beer, but it's even better when there's an easy paced but challenging quiz to go with the chat.

Watch filums, lots of, not so much normal tv.

Cars, boats, planes, guns, knives, bombs etc etc, the usual man toy shiny stuff.

Technology, reading about and messing around with, both high end stuff like fancy digital slr's/pc's and oily rag stuff like landies or engines.

Occasional bit of diy, I start it with much groaning and imprecation but I quite enjoy surveying something I've made, especially when it's not shit.

Used to play rugby to a high level, same with sprinting, used to surf/skate and climb too, but smashed body has left me unable to do any of those things without suffering lots of crippling pain if I mess up.

Will be going to the gym when more solvent, feeling fat and lumpy and quite like being in shape, even if I don't do anything that needs it.

Women/sexing etc - you all know I'm poking Kv's sister, we have house and a twisted yet seemingly rock solid relationship (me and kv's sister that it, me and kv is just man lust).

'Bout it really.

Drawing Celtic knotwork for frames of stuff.
Making chainmail.
Cooking.
Making stuff out of things that would otherwise be discarded.
Playing w/ my kids.
Growing things that i've no business growing in a northern climate, like mango trees.
Reading, if I'm in the mood or trying to learn something new to do.
and since I've bought a home, fixing and cleaning!
Woodcarving.
Plotting world domination.
Writing.

You are me AICMFP

Books - I think I've mentioned previously that I have an almost crack-like addiction to books. There have been times when I've been on a strict budget for the month, buying only basic foods in the shop, but get me within a half mile radius of a Waterstones and I'm like a lapsed junkie getting his sweet, sweeet medicine. Also like Friz, I have to forcefully stop myself from reading so that I can actually get some sleep.

Music - Last FM will show you what crap I like. I love music. In a way I feel like I wasted my early youth, as all the bands I like now that were out then, I avoided like the plague. I go to fair few concerts too - in recent times I've seen Kings of Leon, Interpol, Morrissey and Queens of the Stone Age. As with computer games though I feel that there is a real drought of decent music at the moment. MTV2 is shite - it either plays crap bands trying to recreate the 80's or whiny guitar "rock" (I nearly smashed the TV last time I watched the "rock" top 10).

Films - don't watch as many as I used to, but I still watch a lot of them. Every other Friday I generally have a 'film night' with aforementioned lady friend. Go to the cinema with her a lot too - saw Dark Knight at the IMAX last night (more of which in the relevant thread).

Football - watching that is, I get chest pains just at the thought of playing. Oh, and I'm a Manchester United fan so bring the hate (in fact I've got a lovely view of the stadium right outside my window).

I used to cook a lot, but not so much anymore. I'm a home owner so I grudgingly do a lot of cleaning. I also crave comedy, even if it's a bit crap (well, you've heard my awesome jokes) - I just love humour in it's many different forms.

I also love being able to vomit my brains over TS - I have to act serious and normal from 9-5, 5 days a week, it is what keeps me sane (or not as the case may be).

very similar to everyone else here: reading, films, music etc.
I do have an unhealthy obsession with Science! The more oddball the better.
I do video stuff from time to time, but i dont often enjoy it.
Thinking about it, my biggest passtime seems to be unfinished projects. Im currently writing two books and the script for a comic, designing two computer games, and one pen and paper rpg. In all likelyhood, in never going to finish any of them, but i enjoy fiddling with them anyway.

See, this is why we all get along well, most of us share common interests.

Righto, my turn then:

I'm another reading fan, I've slowed down from my silly pace when I was in secondary school and college, but still read a fair bit for pleasure, also harbour a soft spot for Pratchett and have all the main discworld books on a shelf barring the newest one or two (charity shop go!). Finally getting around to more "classics", 1984 is my next book.

Cycling is something I like to do, not to the level of everyone else, but a good 10 mile ride occasionally is nice, as are long walks, sadly I'm lacking motivation after working recently as HoF eats your soul.

I'm a big fan of learning, and generally go on random internet sprees on topics and tangents (hello Wikipedia!) to just pick up information. Also a fan of military hardware, bangs and booms and more mechanical stuff and would like to get into robotics and mech's.

I'm a crap bassist and even worse guitarist, but do love music nonetheless.

I've mastered the art of procrastination, and while I don't like going to bed, sleeping is good :)

And as you know, I ride a motorbikes, which I love as it's fucking awesome, cars are alright but more practical than fun but they might appeal more once I can drive mine on my own, I do like tinkering with it though but have Teh Fear of breaking it while doing do.

TV and shit is simple, just mostly sci-fi stuff, occasional medieval stuff is fun. Also been watching anime again recently, although I have been watching Bleach on a weekly basis since it started. Oh, and a big fan of classics like A-Team, Airwolf, Thundercats, Knightrider etc....

I'm also a sarcastic pessmistic optimist. I expect things to go wrong, and never expect them to go brilliantly, however I'm pleased when they do.

Er, that'll do pig, that'll do.

Posts by Buzz and Roman reminded me that I didn't point out that I'm a Reading fan - the football club rather than reading books (although as I said I like that too), but living in Newcastle for 6 years means I also have a soft spot for them too.
