Back on a wartime footing

Post by friznit »

Not seen it on the ISS forum yet, but gonna pre-empt here. Back on a war footing as per the OSNAP war. You all know the form.

Edit: That's 5 now. Anyone think we should exercise the 'leave ISS for a week or two' option?

blimey!

If we leave ISS though, wont people get pissy when we want to rejoin (and also what happens about the freighter?) Wouldnt the POS use more fuel too as we wouldnt have sov...

How about this?

Stay our course we've set. Have the Fw4ppers move everything in Empire that needs moving, i.e. bringing you lot ammo, picking up the dysposium, bringing fuel, picking up anything else that needs to come to Empire. We'd just need you to bring it all to a system on your side of the border to Empire, and provide security as we come in to pick it up. We could even bring some giant secures down to park in SS as the drop-off point.

What do you think?

Looked into it. Although under the terms of the ISS charter we are able to leave temporarily during wartimes with no penalty, we would indeed lose sov at the overall cost of 25mill for two weeks (or 50 for a month).

However, I agree with Dres. It's no coincedence that Fw4ppers was born out of the OSNAP war...this is exactly where they can be most useful. Whilst we remain at the POS or in lock down in empire, moving on a war footing only, they can do the donkey work. So as per OSNAP war...situation no change

Lets have us some fun :)

Great!

So, for starters: Who will be needing ammo?
Normally I'd have you direct your needs to Sam, who's been acting quartermaster. However, she is busy with coursework, and I've been covering for her. If we can produce it, we will, otherwise if you could point me in the direction of a favorable region to purchase it, please let me know.

Next up, delivery. Shall we set up secure cans in SS? And if so, where, and of course, when? These can also double as the drop point for the dysposium, and can be as deep as needed inside 0.0, we'll just need escorts.

And of course fuel and dysposium. Although I'm sure the contract is nice and finished, it may be in our interest to discuss the 'additional costs' that war has brought to us, as I'm sure many of the dysposium suppliers are ISS members and facing the same shipping concerns.

And of course, ships. Moving ships is one area that Fw4ppers aren't as adept as you lot, as many of them we can't pilot. You will no doubt need some, so I've come up with these ideas:

Frigates. I'm sure we have a fw4pper that can pilot most frigs you might need, and as I recall they're pretty much the fodder of choice for WT.

Provide scouts for you moving ships: Less easy, as we don't see your WT. We can still scout for you though, at least to help you get into and out of Empire.

Anywhere else we can support you will be greatly appreciated!

Piloting frigs needn't be a problem Dres. They repackage to 2,500m3 so several can be bunged in the back of a hauler if need be.

Actually, you could manage this quite easily. Jus set negative standings from fw4ppers to whome-ever we happen to be at war with :)

Don't follow them about and look like scouts, but the odd bit of intel here or there would be great.

Or when not scouting DO follow them about and make them paranoid.

Bloody hell. I go away for a week and the whole of EVE goes to war?

Damn that Butter :dog: and his uncontrollable temper. I'll bet he knew about the prov outpost's central role in this dispute aswell, given his position. I hope Count slaps him on the snout. Lake, on the other hand, I always considered a more sensible soul, now we have him to thank for making the providence outpost location public.

Oh, and one of the wardecs is from Curse Coalition, I assume in response to MC dec against them. A CC corp lives in Khank (pratorian something or other). This is a good or a bad thing, depending on which way you view it :ahoy:

Oh, and an implied thingy from one of the posts about the prov project; freighters need to be loaded at a station, hence it is easier to move stuff to the construction site than remove it. This implies that they can jettison cans. Is this true? If so, a freighter becomes more useful (direct deliveries to the POS ftw...)

I'll be back online on Monday, see you all then

Urm, kinda don't want them looking like scouts because then fw4ppers might get a free war dec just to make CVA/CC/other jokers lives easier.

Might it be an idea to remove all mentions of 5punk from the fw4ppers corp description for the duration of the war then incase some one feels like being nasty?

Good idea. I'll take care of it as soon as DT ends.
