Just a thought, but it carries alot of weight, mathmatically at least.
What if 5punkorp was 5 times it's size? Then a 50% turnout at mining events would still be huge! And just imagine being able to rape a SYSTEM instead of just a belt. The possibilities with a crew like that would be amazing. Not to mention the possibilities in missions. Running a 6/10 DS would be eaier if we did it in waves, having enough members to secure gates for shipping, or just enough members to spread the haulage to POS around so it doesn't fall on the shoulders of a few so often.
I propose we recruit hard for a month, everywhere we can think of. But I do propose that we do it differently. I currently talk about the 'help' we can give members to get them started. That is one thing 5punkorp does very well on. But another point of strength we have is ship production. I hate to tell recruits that we can build them a BS when they're ready, because they might come and play for awhile, then ditch when their ship is done. That wouldn't help the corp any, so I don't mention it. What I'm asking is what do you think the corp's strong points are that I/we should be selling, so we could show a consistant picture to recruits.
Do you think we need to grow?

This is kinda what the original idea behind Fw4ppers was because 5punkorp was becoming increasingly innaccessible to new players. Recruit shit loads, train em up for what 5punkorp are doing now, and when they're ready, move them over. We make em work for their ships so they don't just wait for us to build em then leave, and hopefully by the time they get a bc and out to the POS they're as enthusiastic about the corp as we are.
Stepping up recruiting is never a bad thing. Natural wastage will account for the crap people who want a free ride. Overall, I think what we're doing now is good. We've got a group of very promising people in Fw4ppers who are almost ready to join us, and so it's time for the next lot.
What we don't want is a fat corp full of wasters who never turn up - they'll just get booted after two weeks. Fw4ppers was designed to stop that. However, since we're on the subject, as the Fw4ppers graduate, get em to suggest any changes o improvements we can make.

I recon let the fw4ppers run our empire ops, as I do believe that was one of it's original purposes when fea came up with the idea.
5punkorp is an experienced industrial corp wth growing PVP ability. being in ISS has granted it the space it needed to grow out of it's hardcore carebear roots into small amounts of PVP. There's a couple of people inside the corp I would consider as capable, if jittery, fleet commanders, and just as watching as an outsider it's amazing to watch how fast everything is happening.
I would remind you to the catacylismtic events of january when we lost next to everything. Now look at where we are.
Now as far as what 5punkorp has to offer:
Free Battleships - No getting around it. We do do this, and yes it's been abbused in the past but that was once out of how many instances?
Free 0.0 access - 5punkorp has no tax rate, so your free to move into 0.0 and make as much isk as your heart disires. If this would go down well with the rest of the 5punkers is another thing, but it's true.
High end Complexes - we've got access to an 8/10 complex I do believe up north. isk in those things is sickening.
Capital Ship Program - Ok, it's still in the planing stages, and we've not build one yet, but we do have one, thanks to the profits we can make with this whole reaction lark. And ok, it's going to be very limited as to who gets one, just because of cost (and if it were to go missing), but it's there.
So, to answer the question, do we need to grow. No. 5punkorp is functions fine as it is. Would it be good for the corp to grow however, yes. More hands on deck means stuff gets done faster, and we get closer to being a full scale industrial power, or a PVP corp with a fleet to be envied. Either works for me

Dres, take note. I know you do stirling work, but remember we're a joint corp. S'why I'm so determined we work together on the bc building. But equally I believe if this is to work the dividing line between 5punkorp low sec / 0.0 ops and Fw4ppers Empire ops must be distinct.

Agreed! Big time. I worked with Fea alot this afternoon on ways we can support 5punkorp, and two things were the forerunners:
Helping with fuel runs, getting the fuel to a starting off point inside Empire for 5punkorp pickup, delivering ammo, and retrieving loot stores and ore.
Empire production. As soon as Ak has perfect production, having him help with the Empire side of producing corp items (ammo, ships, fits, whatever is needed) and saleable items like ships. It also opens up opportunities for Fw4ppers in trade roles too.
So if there are any alts that live primarily in Empire, should they join Fw4ppers? That would help with 'trading' items between corps.
Ideas again. But it does help get people working together and supporting the overall corp instead of either faction. And as much as I'd like a POS for Fw4ppers, I know we shouldn't join ISS, as that defeats the purpose of being seperate in the first place. But if we can get Fw4ppers profitable enough to support one, I'm sure we'd be willing to buy you one!
Thanks for your patience, and can we set up a Jiz alliance wide recruiting event bonanza soon! I'd like our first class of 5 recruits at once! I think that size group might just work better, as they'd be a team right out of the starting gates.
