If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

My copy of Nero is telling me for some reason that my serial number is a pirated one, I was of course as shocked as you probably are. Anyhoo I was just wondering does anyone know of a free or floorware Dvd burning program that I can use?

I've been using
Infrarecorder for a bit now. The last truly great version of Nero was 5, after that the made into horrible bloatware.
Also,
ImgBurn is supposed to be ok.

This works perfectly well for burning images, but I've not used it for writing directory backups, etc.

Although 90% of DVD R/W drives do come with a free nero, which I tend to use if I can.

for copying DVDs I use DVD Shrink to compress the movie and make the DVD image then burn it using InfraRecorder or Nero.
