I played this earlier on the PS and it didn't strike me as anything particularly special.
4-man squad on which you're one who have to defend areas and take out the radar jamming devices so you can call an air strike - not exactly anything new.
Running out of ammo completely and having the bad guys shooting at you from outside the combat zone you were allowed to walk into was, though.

I'll admit right away that I don't know an awful lot about this game, but is smells to me like it's designed for consoles and their associated audience. It's rare a game with those beginnings turn out well, although Mass Effect seems to be doing well.

It is another Battlefield game for the consoles only, but that doesn't mean it's inherently bad. I wouldn't think it'd be ported to PC anyway.
The only major difference from previous games is the destructible builds, etc.
