As a dedicated follower of the Battlefield franchise, I would just like to say after viewing that movie, I am completely dissapointed.

mm, *Repeats Disc. Board post, as it was probably missed*

Basically along the lines of.. going for a futuristic battle game, is like competing with the new to come out in 2007 UT2007.. It could be a bit.. strange. I don't think I'd like Battlefield trying to do something like this.

Although, on the other hand, BIG FUCKING ROBOTS WITH LASERS!11!.. but it still depends on how they're done ;)

Or Quake Wars, it was inevitable really, they were talking about it back in the days before BF2 in almost the same breath as BF(1) Modern Weapons, which of course became BF2.

i dont think its going to be too futuristic. By the sound of it, the guns are still bullet based and the mechs are just like tanks with legs.

^this. The technology looks "near future". Reminded me a lot of C&C Tiberian Sun. Personally, I like this muchly.

Will the flying things have tow lines do you think? You know, so you can attach it to the legs of the walking things and fly around and around and around and around them until all tied up and then they fall over? Because that would be both original, and funny!
