It will take me just over three days of constant downloading, which translates in real life to a big fuck off.

I might go for the full game if it turns out to be good and comes on DVD.

I never applied. I've got too many paid for and working games than I have time to play without volunteering my services for betas.

I suffer the same connection. Do want to see how it goes as The Secret World hinges upon the success of AoC

Is that the cthulhu/lovecraft mmong? I do think that aoc may finally be the one to offer a serious competitor to wow, it's far more adult, gore, boobies, fighting in pubs, swearing at everyone etc. It's also had a long time to study where the other attempts failed. Plus it's fucking huge and has quite a big everquester following with all the in depth building of fortresses and whatnot.

Unfortunately for warhammer online and quite possibly this 'secret world' thingy, I suspect if aoc is as successful as I expect, it'll make the rest fail, the fight will e wow and aoc. Of course i could be wrong, aoc may crash and burn.

I think AoC's success rests on whether people will embrace a new way of playing their MMOs. It differs in many ways, especially the combat which may alienate certain folk who have played wow sold their soul..

I'm hoping that TSW will appeal to a different set of player as well as those currently playing AoC, I hope it does well, would be the first 'horror/thriller' MMONG ever.

As for AoC, you guys have been playing for nearly two hours now, WHERE'S THE GOSS?

Your forum clock is an hour wrong, and the game was scheduled an hour early :P

also, updates to be had.

Protip: if you're using nod32, add the aoc folder to your exclusions list, else it'll spend forever scanning the game files.

To add an extra patch to improve the gaming experience and quality of gameplay, the official start time of the IGN Open Beta now is:

20:00 GMT (8 pm GMT)
(to check the current GMT time please refer to http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/)

We wanted to add the extra update prior to launching the servers rather than to fix it shortly after the start of the Open Beta.

pve is my preference too, especially as the game will be full of angry 12 year olds.

Well, with the m rating and the new effort to actually make the ratings mean something, hopefully we'll leave most of them on wow. Unfortunately KV will still be there to drop the occasional SAAAAYYYY WHAAAAAAT! :P

Don't worry, if it takes off we'll be able to act like 12 year olds instead.
