i've finally had enough of zone alarm, it's rubbish UI and 44MB download
anyone know of any nice small, easy to use free firewall software, mainly for outgoing connections?

Comodo firewall is meant to be good, as is Eset Smart Security.
But I've not used either, so there.

I use Sygate Personal Firewall. Does me okay.

Problem is, I can't really suggest that any more, as its been unsupported for a couple of years.

Really? I didn't know that. Still, I have a router firewall too, so I only really use it for program control.

If you are using a decent router then you should not need a firewall, I have not used a firewall on any of my PCs for ages now because they are all behind the router and I have had no problems, touch wood.

But, mostly I think they're using the firewalls for app control, which isn't a terrible idea. (I still don't bother though, causes too much hassle with some stuff)
