Linux outlook type thing

Post by Joose »

I realise this is probably a long shot, but any of you bummers use Linux? Any clue what the best organiser type program, in a similar strain to outlook, would be?

You mean like full blown outlook?

hmmm... that's a good question. For something like Outlook Express, I know Mozilla makes a program called "thunderbird." Did you see if maybe OpenOffice has a program like that?

Yeah, fullblown outlook. I kinda need the organiser thing, as my memory is poo.

Thunderbird is good, but only an email thing, really.

Ive had a look at OpenOffice, which looks good also, but i dont think it has a outlookey type thing

Buy a diary, and a pen, and write things down on it.

I haven't tried this myself, but apparently it's a tried and tested method. :P

Clearly, youve not seen my handwriting

Plus, the diary/pen combo has no "ping" noise to remind you of things.

I did a quick spin around with google, and it appears my google-fu is strong tonight. There should be a program that came with your distro called "Evolution" that works like full blown outlook.

If this is not the case, then your distro can get to fuck and you can download it (I think...) from here:

My new set-up has been diturbingly linux-free recently, due to a hard drive shortage.
