The First Great 5punkorp Frigate Tournament

Post by Hehulk »

So, frigate tournament. Tis quite easy really, we all head off to a location, then procide to blow each other up. Last man standing wins. Rules are as thus:

No T2 ships
No T2 mods
No T2 ammo

otherwise, anything goes. Tis up on the 5scedular for saturday, but if anyone want so come, but can't make it then, easy to change. Also, one we get started, usually doesn't take more than 5 mins, and if your gona have problems with possibly losing a ship, that's easy. We'll build one!

ooh! I was actually going to mention doing something like this, looks like you beat me to it. What about prizes? How about we all put 5 mil each in and winner takes all?

I like the sound of this idea, I assume that crystals fall under the category of ammo...

and is it going to be a series of 1v1 or just a great big 5punk off

From trying to work out a frig setup i can conclude that frigs are crap at tanking, it barely lasted a minute.

I likes this. I'll try and get a frig together in time and talk to someone ingame to find out where it is (although I could hazard a guess).

Do noob ships count?

I should have more time now I've finished my course. I've actually heard of noob ship tournaments being run, which could also be fun. I really ought to sort out my treasure hunt too, although I've been saying that since before Christmas.

Rah! That was woosome!

This is the fight my Brawler was designed for. Close and messy. This is how it went (from my point of view):

Setup:
Rifter (of course)
3 x 200mm AC w/ EMP
1 x Rockets w/ Firefox
1 x AB
2 x Small shield extender
2 x Gyro
1 x Inertial dampners

1. All warp in and land in clusters.
2. Initial pause while everyone eyes each other up.
3. Explosion prompts frantic locking.
4. Hehulk locks me as I lock Friz
5. I orbit and open up on Friz, and target Hehulk as a secondary.
6. Hehulk dies. I get confused and think I killed him (even though I was shooting at Friz)
7. I assume my guns will go off and hit my F keys again to shoot at Friz.
8. I actually turn my guns off.
9. I turn my guns on. Friz is in armour but my shield is dropping quickly (Everything's happening too fast for me to see who)
10. I explode.
11. I sit back with Hehulk and watch Lee and Bomber fight it out, while Friz spams them with missiles from 20km.
12. Friz wins.
13. I sing "I love horses" as my promised punishment for beating me.

Great fun, although I've no idea what happened to Wiggy.

I got pwned, pure and simple.

Warped in, got locked by hehulk, bomber and friz straight away and didn't even get a kill. Bah.

Warped in last cos I was facing the wrong (right?) way. Locked Hehulk as planned first off cos he was greatest threat to me. Taking incoming from Dog Pants and eating into armour but that was ok. Hehulk popped quickly cos everyone else was shooting him too. Then I switched to Dog Pants to remove the threat. After that I was about 20km away and could sit back and spam missiles from outside everyone elses range.

Oh and for info, my planned target order was orginally Hehulk, Wiggy, Dog Pants, bomber, Lee in that order.

I are teh WINNN3333RR!!!!111

Ok, match from my point of view:

1. We all warp in
2. I lock up wiggy as he'd pointed out we were in warp together.
3. I open up with me guns, rocket launcher and webber.
4. My shield vanish, so I have a quick look around for sentry guns, then turn my shield booster on.
5. To my surprise, I actually start tanking wiggy and friznit
6. To my great horror, wiggy has a nosferatu, and my cap dies
7. I keep on shooting, as my structure drains away and just before I pop, wiggy pops.
8. Dog pants then goes down, followed by Bomber, then Lee.
9. We all start fuming at Friznit.

Good fun over all :)
