Interplay It Again
Odd timing, this - on the same day that Obsidian, a company formed from the ashes of Black Isle, finally step out of Bioware's shadow and announce their own game, we also see the return of Black Isle's much-troubled owners, Interplay.
Interplay.com now hosts this excited image:
and a Coming Soon message. See the [...]

and a Coming Soon message. See the full pic here. Going left to right, we've got MDK, Earthworm Jim, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and apparently the browny-green bit underneath the Interplay logo is concept art from Fallout Online.

Incorrect. 'Merkin company, bought out by Frenchies.Dog Pants wrote:Aren't Interplay French? Or am I thinking of someone else. It has significance because French publishers seem a little more daring than most.
Frenchies then went out of business, dunno who owns it now, but according to Wikipedia the CEO of the Frenchies that went out of business is now CEO of Interplay.

I certainly did - I got it free with something, yet I still was able to download supported upgrades for years afterwards.Dog Pants wrote:Yeah, probably. Anyone ever play Pod? That was a racer by Ubisoft and it was ace.
There was the Pod 2.1 upgrade, 3dfx support, horse feedback support and loads of free cars and tracks.
Hated Kenichi, though - he was such a cheater.
I had their "followup" too, Speedbusters - again they provided very good horse wheel support and downloadable cars, but I tried it again in the post-GeForce era and it didn't work anymore.
