BROKE TEEF IS BROKE

Audio stutters and menu is unresponsive and slow to the point where I have to end task it to quit.

I've installed new drivers, validated the game files and even defragmented them with GCFscape (harddrive got degragmented a few days ago, so no point doing that again) and its still broke.

I'm assuming this is the latest patch, since the last time it was working was before the patch

Try changing the audio to another language if you can?

The only option in the audio tab is English.

And it took my about five minutes to open settings, click the audio tab and then the drop down menu for language

Delete the directory and gcf's and redownload and re-install, it's the only way to be sure.
