Outbreak

Post by Dog Pants »

While browsing the UD forums I came across a similar game called Outbreak. It's basically UD, but with Doom demons instead of zombies and unlimited APs. Quite enjoyable, but the Demons are NPCs and so are always active, meaning it's easy to die while logged off :(

Try it at www.outbreakgame.com

Yar, I've signed up, got a chainsaw, got some medkits, and am now dead in the Fillmore-Pine Police Station. I got mugged by 13 big demons

Fillmore-pine you say? Dog Pants to the rescue! I've worked out that you need to be able to hide to survive, as the demons will knock down any barricade in a couple of hours (or less).

EDIT: I got there to find a nice man had already revived you and hidden your prostrate body. So I slipped a chainsaw into your pocket and bummed you. Also, I barricaded the building and all the ones adjacent. Should keep them out for a bit. I'm hiding in the police station (you might not be able to see me).

Thankee Mr.Pants. I managed to take out quite a few demons (wining and dining etc) before I died, so now I have a taste for their spicy blood.

How do you hide then?

'Tis a 1000 point skill, and well worth getting. I am also liking dual chainsaws ('cos they're cheap). Also, buy some medpacks and use them on anyone who is down more than 5 hits. They cost 5c each and you get 1c back per hit healed. Therefore 6+ hits healed = profit!

I've created a 5punk 'Fire Team' for Outbreak 2 (whatever one of those is). It allows you to see the positions of all other people in the team.

Apparently all people playing on original Outbreak will be moved over to this soon.

Edit: Right, it's very much in beta at the moment - no skills and no monsters  . On the plus side, now is the ideal time to get stocked up on supplies - I have quite a lot of spare stuff if anyone wants it (shotguns, pistols etc). Searching for things so far seems a lot easier.

I've signed up for it but I'll have to wait to check the acceptance email ('cos hotmail's blocked at work)

Sounds good. I've got armour, ammo, weapons, medkits, radios, GPSs and cleaning kits, but nothing to kill. Where are you guys? I'll come and join the fireteam and hand out the spare radio and GPS if anyone wants them?

I'm in Fort Mason (this is in Outbreak 2). There should be a little box under your ammo counter that says 'Fire Team' - if you click that and change it to 5punk I think it should work.

I have a theory that maybe the monsters don't come out until night time (there is a timer saying how long left till nightfall). I may be wrong.

Right, found you. GPS co-ordinates are 3S 15E. You need to add me to the fireteam by the looks of things, then we can talk on the radio. I don't think the monsters come out at night - I wandered around at nighttime for about half an hour earlier and haven't seen a thing. There's more people around though.
