Nintendo Gamecube games

Post by Woo Elephant Yeah »

Can anyone suggest any games that are a must have on the Nintendo Gamecube.

Not too worried about titles you can get on other platforms (unless there's a reason to get on the GC instead), but any suggestions for good games, expecially

PARTY GAMES*

would be appreciated, as I plan to use it when the mates come round i.e. Mario Kart Double Dash and so on.

*You loved that didn't you Joose

Mario Party games are the obvious answer, but they need 4 players ideally otherwise you have to play with the computer.

Super Monkey Ball 1 or 2 definately

And maybe Soul Calibur or F-Zero-GX

I can certainly second the motion to get super monkey ball 2. Cant think why you would want 1 as well though, everything worth playing in 1 is in 2, IIRC. My misses utterly adores this game.

the mario cart for GC is fairly good. My misses quite likes this game. Shes about as good as me, but then, I suck ass.

And the super smash brothers game is mental, but fun. Fairly easy to pick up, too. My misses is rubbish at this, but then, shes not to good at anything platformy. Still seems to like it though.

Pikmin is alright, but singleplayer. And piss-easy.

Dont, reapeat DONT, get zoo-cube. Its rubbish on a stick.

This. He did mention that they were to play with mates, but I just wanted to stress that in the Mario party games, a computer-controlled Mario cheats like a fucking bastard.

What I meant was if he's playing with 2 mates he'll have to have one computer controlled player in the game to make up the numbers and they are annoying, I probably wont go so far as to say they cheat but they are irritating.

I would. They cheat like whores. Even my nintendo fanatic housemate, who will not see a bad word said against them, says that they cheat like little bitches.

The most filthy language I have ever experienced was directed at Princess in mario kart on SNES and N64, that cheating little whore was reponsible for several broken controllers. :x

Yeah I already have Mario Kart Double Dash, I was just using it as an example.

Super Smash Bro's Melee seems a bit stupid to me, and wasn;t much fun single player, but it might be different with 4 of us all buggering about on it.

I'm going to get Bomberman Deluxe, as this is awesome at MP, and the latest Mario Party, as my friends already have the previous ones.

I may get Viewtiful Joe just to play the original one as I already have no.2 on the PS2, but it all depends on whether there's a PSP in my stocking or not, as I would buy the handheld just to play that game over and over again

I might wander off and view a chart on some gaming site fo the best games and so on, and see what's going cheap.

Yesterday was really weird, as I sat down to play Sonic Mega Collection on a Nintendo console!

I was like, "huh" surely nobody on earth thought this would happen back when I was a kid playing it for the first time on the Mega Drive, and it was the face of Sega, the huge corporation that looked set to dominate the gaming console market.

It was rather good though...

Sega. Ahh.

Actually that reminds me, the Powerstone games on the Dreamcast were great party games - manic beat-em-up action with ludicrous destructible/hazardous landscapes. It's probably how they meant Super Smash Bros to turn out.
