Handy CoH Links and stuff.

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

As we have a lot of new people on coh, I figure it's probably worth sharing stuff™

Handy Links

Vidiot Maps - Pretty much the best source for CoH maps and such.

Badge Hunter - Sister site of Vidiot Maps, great for badge whores.

Paragon Wiki - A wiki full of CoX know.

Red Tomax's Guide to CoH, lots of mission guides etc.

The Titan Network - A herd of sites pretty much for CoH addicts, can be very handy.

Build Planner - Part of the titan network, but worth mentioning alone due to how very, very handy it is. :)

Essential addons

VidiotMaps In-Game Map Overlay or: How Berk never gets lost in the sewers.

Adds enemy info (types and levels), badge/plaque locations, GM locations.

I found this article to be most handy - fixed all the problems I had:
- no cursor
- second screen goes blank
- detect multi-core CPU
- Fista basic display mode

My game likes to crash so I stumbled across this thing that lets you change the config outside the game:

Seems to work for some of my chars, but not others, in that it displays the updated maps, but is blacked out for places I haven't travelled though, whereas with Kitty everything displays, just in a darker colour. Couldn't find anything on their site or forums about it.

I've noticed that. I figured that some maps were blacked out, whereas the earlier ones were only greyed out to help noobs out a bit. I didn't really pay it much attention.

This. :above: I noticed the difference, but never bothered to find out exactly why it was like that.

Pretty sure it's character dependant, as I used the King's Row one with Kitty to get all the badgers and was confused why it was blacked out when I went there with Sausage. Tried reinstalling after visiting the region in case it was patching existing data, but the maps are changed underneath, it's just the blacked out function.

I wouldn't be that bothered, as I'm not that much of a badger whore - it was just something fun to do when you first get hover, but even the text bits around the edge outside the actual map are blacked out so it's actually impossible to travel there and uncover them, so I guess it's not functioning as intended.

Hmmm, I've never noticed the badgers on the map actually, so I shall investigate tonight.
