How did you find 5punk?

Post by Dog Pants »

While nursing my hangover today I started wondering how people come to be on 5punk.

I personally have been a b3tard and a gamer for years, but online gaming gave me teh fear because of how many trolls there are. I bought BFV and figured I should give it a go online, and remembered seeing something about a b3ta gaming community in someone's profile. I think I tracked it down to Stoat in the end and figured I'd have a look, as fellow b3tards were more likely to be fluffy to me.

And so here I am

I randomly found the forum a few times while looking for information on games or something. and thought, looks good, cool name, will have to check it out properly, and always forgot.

Then my friend Azra3l made me get Anarchy Online, and sign up here, and its been love ever since 8)

I saw a 5punk banner in someones b3ta profile, not a very interesting anecdote. How about this: my 5punk birthday is the day after my real birthday

Also I assumed everyone here had come via b3ta, then is happened on TS:

Code: Select all

Me: do you every look at b3ta?
Vboy: what's that?
:?

So it's obviously not the case, who else has never seen b3ta?

I followed a link somewhere off of b3ta. Then I screwed up the registration part and said I was under 13... I had to e-mail WEY and say "Dude, I'm not under 13" and clearly he said "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure" so I had to hax0r t3h internets to get my name back. :ninja:

Either that or he changed everything without a hitch... I can't remember...

I was rather lucky, I dont usually post on b3ta or even look at the discussion board, i just have it as my homepage and look at the fps.
Ages ago some one posted a gif video type thing of him playing an fps and unknowingly controlling some one in his house and killing everyone, for some reason i decided to click the more button and saw some one had posted a link to 5punk.
I'd like to thank whoever that was since this is now my favourite site on teh whole interweb :)

I cant rightly remember, but i think it was probably WEY spamming the b3ta board that got my attention

I do remember that one of the first posts i read was some troll.

I got recruited into 5punkorp in Eve by Hehulk. I think he may have bribed me, though I don't remember. Equally it may have been the tender bumming.

However, after several weeks/months of confusion which arguably have yet to finish, I was pointed in this direction so someone else could do the explaining as he was getting RSI from answering all my n00b questions. Only after this did I then forray into the world of b3ta..which is strange but since then I have come to terms with the fact that my whole life is a bizarre reverse engineered experiment by a pie-starved sub-saharan aquatic bean merchant.

More or less pointedly, depending on your point of view, Eve is only the second MMO I have played. I started playing WoW after getting back from Iraq but then thankfully was shown that MMO's aren't all soft, fuzzy and repetetively, abjectly dull. No offense to the 3 million or so WoW players out there. You're all entitled to an opinion. And I did like my skeletal horsey.

In conclusion, the reason I hang around is that you are all quite clearly more possessed, obsessed and messed up than even my good self and I have rarely felt so much at home :)

No free porn tho

Happy 5punkday! (I should get a mod for this really)

*bumhugs Lee.H*

Well the posts above show why it's important to spam the b3ta board and other places once in a while, because even if it is thought of as annoying, it's probably the sole reason a lot of you found this place.

How much do you think an advert in b3tas' newsletter would cost in poundage?

Hippeh 5punkday's soloman.

I found 5punk through sexy Stuk, Although I did get the b3ta newsletter I never really looked on the boards (They scared me slightly)... And I was playing Counterstrike on LAN with m'good friend Stuk and we're all like "Giggle, his name says 5punk", from that day onwards I made it my duty to become a bit 5punky.. :)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha..........

That image had me laughing like a loon infront of my work mates

Oh yeah, that reminds me, Stoat, is it possible to have the top left 5punk logo in a transparent logo, or is it too hard to do because of the way it blends with the blue?

Yep, I've got the original PSD somewhere- it should work fine on any dark background.
