Zombies FTW!

Post by Dog Pants »

I fancy being a zombie. Not to say that I'm going to abandon my humanity, but I think I'll start a zombie alt.

As it stands the city is only about 39% zombie I think and this distresses me; it seems to me that humans should be greatly outnumbered in a zombie apocalypse.

So, post your zombie talk here. I will. Even if I'm just talking to myself.

Graah to you all.

I'm running out of human skills to get, so I may die ignobly in a ditch sometime soon and play as a zombie.

Brnhr.

Should I hunt down and attack myself? The voices in my head say: Graaaagh!
They are not helping much ...

Bah. I have the opposite problem. It seems everyone who shares my internet gateway also shares the same IP range, meaning I usually have until about lunch time before they're gone. Who'd have guessed there are so many slackers in my organisation.

Also, it's bloody hard work playing as a zombie.

By any chance do you get XP for successfully attacking a barricade?

I dont think you do, which makes our options for gaining XP small

not really. we have soldiers, and zombies.

soldiers kill teh zombies until they can level up. then someone revives teh zombies, and kills the soldiers until they can level up.

I think we should all have a zombie character that's dedicated to doing proper zombie stuff rather than being a spy for our human characters, etc. For this to be a proper zombie apocalypse there needs to be at least as many zombies as there are humans, ideally a lot more zombies. I've read a book about it so I know what a ZA (as we experts call them) is all about :)

I agree with Spoodie. I've considered using our zombies as XP generators but it'd make the game a bit pointless. A zombie group is actually a better idea than a human group, in game terms. Zombies need to be in groups or they'll just get singled out and headshotted - how many times have you killed a lone straggler rather than taking on a group. If anyone does attack the group they won't be able to pick on the most injured, so if you're left low on hits you're more likely to survive.
It also allows for better busting of barricades (I just took one down a level and it took me about 30APs as a level 1 zom), and having people left with action points to get inside and feast on the juicy braaaaains.
Course you don't get the banter 'cos all you can say is graaarh and mrgh?, but it's surprising how creative people have been with Death Rattle.

right my current dude is a revifified zombie so I might get myself rekilled and use that for zombie5punk then start up a human alt. Revifified Zombies seeming to be about no use. What class is most required for the 5punk (human) group?

From looking at the 5punk urbandead page another scientist might be useful but you might find it a bit boring. I'm a necrotech and all I do is heal and revive people, no attacking for me, it's pointless. Just go with what you want I'd say

I have created a zombie alt :w00t:

I'm keeping him completely seerate from my human characters. He's currently shuffling to the centre of the map towards Floyd Stadium.

I shall head towards Floyd Stadium too then. Maybe there's a concert on.

I'm now in Ridleybank. I'm keeping an eye out for the RRF (Ridleybank Resistance Front, possibly the most famous zombie horde), but will make my way to the stadium as it's only in the next suburb.

Life's bloody hard as a zombie. I've been killed every day since I created the character, so I lose 10AP right away having to stand up. Moving costs 2AP so travel's slow. I've never found a Harman to bite, but had I have done and actually managed to hit him I'd have lost the XP within hours from being headshotted. This is with me finishing the day as part of a group of 7-10 zombies too.

Yes, I too have found this. They should reduce the number of APs it takes to stand up :(

Edit: I know you get this with Ankle Grab, but it's damned hard getting the XP required.

I'm in Ridleybank too. There's about 25 zombies within site and I've not come across any hue-marns for a couple of days.

woah! 90 zombies at Blomfield Grove PD, it's empty though as are all the other buildings here

edit: the Gillman Museum west Pimbank is open for business and I just killed a lvl 16 survivor :w00t:

Yay! I found myself in a horde of 22 zombies this morning and for the first time I was actually still standing! I also had 16 XP from somewhere, which is odd. Managed to kill my first Harman though today (although I suspect he was a revivvd zombie wanting to die again) so Woo!

Now I just have to survive for another 40XP so I can buy a skill!

(I'm in the Whalen Arms in Ridleybank if anyone's interested).
