Starcrafters here

Post by Baliame »

http://news.filefront.com/starcraft-in- ... -released/

A Starcraft total conversion for Warcraft III. I expect this to be fully moddable once it comes out in full version (fully moddable as in much better moddable than the original SC). Also, this is directly using SC stuff, therefore it expects you to have an SC:BW CD for the installation. Knowing Blizzard, SC2 will be probably released along with Duke Nukem Forever, so this can be used to kill time while waiting.

Yeah, I'll wait for SCII. Probably be out before the final release of that mod anyway.

It looks very good, in the way that they've made everything 3D..
But it's exactly the same, there doesn't appear to have been any game play improvement.

The WCIII engine wasn't exactly big on showing off it's 3D powers anyway, the most you could do is rotate the camera 70 degrees either way, or zoom in a little bit.

Roll on SC2.

While I agree with most of the points (yes, nothing really revolutionizing, not really 3d), the moddability of the Warcraft III engine has been proven, so if this IS released before SC2, it's only a matter of time before someone actually finishes up the gameplay improvements.
